- While we were in Montana we finally found a barbershop to film a wet shave! We stopped in the historic downtown of Lewistown and found Victory Barber Shop on Main Street.
The barbershop is owned by Wendy Crawford who is originally from Montana. She trained in Denver and has been working in the industry for 30 years.
While growing up Wendy's family moved from Montana to Colorado, and she visited Montana every year. Montana is the place she always wanted to come back to so nine years ago she returned, and she bought Victory Barber Shop.
This barbershop was originally opened in 1941 and Wendy bought the shop from the second owner. All the interior cabinets and countertop are from the 1960s making this barbershop an authentic vintage experience.

I think the most underrated thing about these videos is that these barbers still work proficiently while being on camera.

Love the way she closes the razor before adjusting your head or doing anything else. It’s such a small thing, but it really shows how careful and detailed she is in the whole process! Add her awesome personality and she’s a great barber!

This barber is good. She explains to the customer what she's doing and makes them feel relaxed.
I'm from Germany, but I can feel the tradition, the calm and the comfort of such a place. To imagine that I've been visiting this store for years, maybe decades, is pleasant.
I would love to go there, I feel her down to earth, straight up talking and no messing around makes her top in my book

One of my favourite Haircut Harry videos. Vice nice and professional woman who actually speaks during the video. Gives it a warm ambience. In most HH videos there is little to no speaking.

Back in the late 70's, I served as a "model" for an apprentice barber looking to earn her licence. It was my beard that got me there (tough beard and baby face). She practiced on me once a week for six months and took me to her exams. Miss those shaves. Yes, she did pass her exams.

It’s always great to see somebody who’s really good at his or her job. Although I never get a shave at a barber shop, this woman seems just great. So meticulous, assured, attentive and all round competent. When I’m lazy or in the mood to be pampered, it would be cool to have someone like her give me an excellent shave like this. I’d tip her generously. She would deserve it, too.

She's a people person with rock-steady hands. I was reminded of my younger days when I went to an old-school Italian barber whose kids I went to school with. He cut me an excellent mullet and did my sides with a straight razor quickly and accurately. Years later, my stepdaughter went to a cosmetology school where they still administered the straight-razor-and-balloon test. If you get all the foam off the balloon without popping it, you pass!

Another high quality piece of content. It's always interesting to see the differences of approach in pre shave in particular. Enjoyed a female barber making good conversation whilst maintaining silence during the shave itself. Finally as others have said the video and audio are high quality which enhances the experience that much more.

Not going to lie..I'm a bearded man..like been growing this beard for 4 years now..but I finally found a place that does a classic wet shave in my state (it's not cheap for a wet shave and haircut both) and I've been REALLY thinking about having it done so I can experience it at least once in my life. I like how I look with my beard and mustache but I literally look at least 2 or so years younger without it since before I started growing it at 30, when I was 24 I was confused by a 17 year old for another 17 year old. I'd regrow the beard no doubt..but being able to experience a classic wet shave would be worth going through the patchy phase I had at the start since my beard grows rather unevenly.
How long have you gone without shaving your beard? Do you trim it or just not touch it at all?
@@SI0AX I trim it and keep it looking neat, I use beard oil and all that stuff. I started growing it at 30 when I had to spend literally 3 days convincing my grandmother to let me grow it because she didn't want me to grow one because my grandpa never grew one..she was in bad shape health wise so I complied with her wishes but I wanted to see what I would look like with a beard since it grew in different speeds on each side of my face..my left side grows in faster and thicker than my right and curls slightly more on it's own. Ironically enough once it grew in my grandmother liked how it looked on me..took about half a year for it to grow in to where both sides looked about even. The 4 years I've grown it is all about just how long I've had it..took about year and half to where it got to where it would be finished, once it got to that length it curls more and doesn't grow down on it's own naturally.
I love when you have women barbers! Another great video Harry! She was meticulous and thorough. This one is up there on the list of my faves!
