I used to be able to play this fairly well on a cannonball soprano. I haven’t played the sax in a decade :(((((((((( even reading the sheet music is semi-foreign to me ugh. But when I played this song I never went off the sheet music anyway. Just headphones and Mr. Coltrane.
Txs4 the transcription ...it's beautiful on the paper 📜 artist with patience... Enjoy your work, made my world 🌍 better ⚠️🤣📜
5:57 wow
This is brilliant man
Wow - good job!
excellent work c.
Beauriful very, very show
anybody have a full transcription of the McCoy Tyner piano from the Coltrane album? I know Aimee Nolte has a RUclips lesson, but I don't think she makes her full transcription available, or at least I didn't see it.
It surprises me that the nominally most popular jazz recording of a ll time has not been transcribed, but I have been unable to find it also. I did find this though which has some examples: :302684_Sami_Linna_McCoy Tyner Modal Jazz and the Dominant Chord_verkkoversio.pdf
@@bambiknow I was listening to Chick Corea last night when I got word he had died. Words fail. I’m happy that the Internet now preserves his personal lessons. Hope someday I’m good enough to feel ready to take advantage of them.
That's what I was thinking! I got so excited to finally be able to read all those brilliant inversions, but this is just the darn sax part. -No easy task in it's own right, but just...
Aimee Nolte sent me the piano transcription for a small donation. Very worthwhile if you want to learn this
pp. 184 - 207 of this thesis have a lot of McCoy Tyner's playing on My Favorite Things, excerpts interspersed with analysis.
Nice transcription man. If you can transcribe tyler mccoys part (full version) i am willing to pay for the sheet =)
I’d like to add to the fund on that lol
@@bjonzjr seconded.
McCoy Tyner :)
If you can't figure out the McCoy solo after learning the rest, I don't know what to tell you.
McCoy's solo in this is probably the easiest solo in Jazz to learn by ear. If you are stuck with a section feel free to ask and I can give you the notes for it.
How can I get the McCoy transcript?
you are a god

This is actually a nice upload of the stereo version. Can you share the source? (which pressing/year it was released, and from what format - cd, vinyl digital?
I did a double take seeing it in f# minor. Then I realized.. saxophone.. the piece was transposed
Thanks so much for this! Btw, why didn't you just change the key signature in the notation instead of writing every single # when the key change to E major happens?
You're welcome. Thank You for suggestion. I'll change new links with new key change)
من كافكا على الشاطئ
Is for soprano or alto saxophone
SOPRANO
It's for soprano sax but You can choose from links in description Alto sax version 🙂
Man is E not F#, why do you change the key?
It's transposed for soprano sax. You can find the piano version in the link in the description. 🙂
@ ohh thanks, good job bro
Trane is a phenomenal player but MAN I hate his tone on soprano
really? it's intense. but very famous. i guess it was the first soprano saxophone i listened to a lot. i like it.
Ik
Trane is a wicked man on soprano
Coltrane*. Come on, it's two syllables. Give the man the respect he deserves.
Same I hated it as well but I’ve grown to like it since my tone on soprano is kind of like that
