- My Fender Bullet makes an appearance, it's old and worn, but is it a relic ?
I take a tongue in cheek look at the concept of relic guitars, (apologies to any ducks watching), and pose the question, do you have what it takes to be a real Rock & Roller ?
There's also a big and groovy looper jam, with the Squier Starcaster and various other things, and if you don't like that, you can just look at the pretty lights.

A person can do what they want to their guitar but I relic mine the natural way. Im anal with my Guitars / Bass.
I about cry when I get a scratch on one. Mostly why I dont play some of them.

Great vid! So funny it brought a tear to my eye… Really. Personal taste is a diverse thing that is difficult to justify without sounding like an utter arsehole to everyone other than those who agree, so it is probably best to live and let live. But I do prefer a sympathetically restored old knacker to an otherwise shiny new guitar artfully vandalised by an à la mode artiste (had to look that one up 🤣). Truth is that they demand such ridiculous prices that I simply can’t justify, so it doesn’t really matter. Keep em’ coming Robbo, I needed this one : )
Thanks Jamie, I really enjoyed making this video, I could have carried on for much longer, so I may return to the subject. I've made a whole list of things that annoy me about guitars and guitaring, so there will probably be a few more rants heading this way :) It's all tongue in cheek, and yeah, ultimately it's personal choice, and each to their own..the world would be a very dull place if we all shared the same thoughts and tastes ! Evening, matey. Nice jam - like Hendrix and Fripp cutting heads ! The whole relic thing is weird, I just don't get it. Very much a guitarist thing. (You don't see keyboard players, or drummers doing this shit). Let them waste their money.
Hey Proggers, thanks mate, I was running 2 seperate loopers at times in theis jam, something I haven't really done before, but will be doing more in the future. I just bought a Boss RC-500 looper, that'll give me a lot more flexibility and better sound, and allow me to sync drum machines and synths into the mix, should be fun..cue the flashing lights ! Good point about the other musicians not doing the relic thing, guitarists are just weird !! Cheers, Rob.

A hundred and ten or thirty pounds back then would have been a couple of weeks wages for me and that includes the extortionate amount of money I had to give my mam and dad for room, board, and soul-destroying sarcastic remarks. 😀
Exactly mate, I think I was on about £3500-£4000 a year back then, so not too much left after rent and daily travel to London. Mind you, beer was only about 65p a pint , so it wasn't all bad :)
Jim (audiomo) sent me here. I hate relic guitars especially the heavy ones. I searched high and low for a used FCS non relic jazzmaster. Finally found a 2016 closet classic so it has some finish checking and old looking hardware. But nothing as bad as a relic or road-worn. The whole concept is dumb. Let’s pay more for something that looks like shit.
