The side by side video is great one of the best cnc videos I've seen and I like the commentary while its going along. I have a R450 x1 im able to get better material removal rates with the 30 taper than the bigger 40 taper machines we have.
dude if that is Synergy 735 coolant, you need to ditch that stuff. It ate through the paint on my brand new S700X1 in less than a year. Hopefully it didn't F anything else up.
Great video! How much do you leave on the floor and on the sides for your finish passes? Do you make any further adjustment because of the 480IPM roughing? I have a S1000X1 and I find that at that quick of travel, I have to adjust quite a bit so I have plenty for my finish passes. I don't have the high accuracy option, do you? Also, nice G100's.
I do not have the option with increased look ahead. I'm roughing with accuracy modes turned off (M289) for maximum speed. I'm leaving between 0.01" to 0.015" (depending on the geometry) on the sides and 0.005" to 0.01" on the floor to ensure the roughing doesn't touch the final part. For finish passes i'm using the M282 accuracy mode.
DeleriousZ Multiple hundreds of parts. The little tips of the tool won’t last long, but surface finish was never going to be good running that high of a chip load. Since everything is finished with other tools the finish the roughing tool leaves doesn’t matter.

wow, amazing video and mirror finish. Thank you!
Would you ming sharing your speeds for finishing with the YG-1? I've a S700X2 and struggling to get a mirror finish on floor and side walls...
Excellent work with this video. Please make more. I subscribed.
great!!! i like it
Very cool! thanks :)
"and here is our finished p(art)"

Nice, Did I hear 60k RPM ?
16k RPM haha.
Wow and I thought that 150ipm was fast for roughing, that's wild!! What kind of tool life do you get on that 3/8" roughing endmill?
