I am convinced that JBJ is one of the greatest gifts to the modern church. He has such a vast body of work, and a great understanding of the Word.

The point he made about Enoch leading to burgh, well I spent a good hour chasing that linguistic rabbit-hole and it's true. It goes from "Uruk" (Akkadian city) to the Greek word "pergos" (tower, the word used in Gen ch 11 in the LXX) to form the seemingly Germanic word for city/township. "Borough" in older English, "Borg" in Icelandic, Burg (castle) in German, etc. Holy cow, do I have to rethink my understanding of linguistic development

I don't think that guy knows that he's being filmed while he's shopping in the middle of a lecture. lol

This faithful student is a busy pastor, so he's often getting books recommended by me (Brian Moats) during the class or doing pastoral work if he has to occasionally. I've pointed this video out to him and he has found it humorous. :)

It’s a sad commentary on the church today when movies like Harry Potter track on biblical ideas like death and resurrection and most Christian movies made are so cheesy and shallow.

The story Dr. Jordan tells around 33:08 about the angels coming down to the tribal people and the chief going into the cave, can someone point me to the story or article about this? I can't quite make out the names. So searching has been in vain.

I admire Jordan's erudition and typological approach however I don't know where he got the idea that the attacks on the Russian speaking inhabitants of the Donbass and Donestsk were staged (?!). For many years (at least since the 2014 coup) the local population has been harassed by the nazi Azov brigade and their ilks and around 14,000 people have actually been killed. This is well documented, among the others by Italian journalist Giorgio Bianchi who has lived for many years in the region, reporting on the atrocities committed there by the Ukrainian extremists. Atrocities, that by the way, have been fostered by the US through deranged warmongers like John McCain.
