I’ve only ever heard the soundtrack, and was so confused as to why there was a song after road to hell (reprise) because it’s the perfect ending. The fact that it’s part of the curtain call floors me. Wow, what a concept. I wasn’t sure I liked hadestown, but god is it beautifully done. There’s no arguing that.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of both music and poetry I've ever heard in my life. I can't stop listening to it. The entire show was overwhelming.
This song is so beautiful, it’s like a detachment from the show, reminding the people the story and what the song is about. It reminds me of Eliza Hamilton breaking the fourth wall at the end as Lin walks her up to the front of the stage and she sees all the people that heard her story. Very well written and well placed. And my favorites song in the show
This is from the Matinee before the Tonys. I was there, in the orchestra left. I did a curtain call Video but the ushers were very strict and wouldn’t let me record the song after the bows.
this piece is so beautiful because it’s like they’re talking directly to the gods and thanking them for the honor of telling their story. i didn’t tear up until this song.
i didnt realize this was after the curtain call, but thats honestly genius. also, cool to know Reeve (and id assume any other Orpheus-es) is actually playing throughout the show and not just using the guitar as a prop, might have to go between this for the chord shapes and the official version to get the sound right to figure out how to play it, cause its a beautiful piece.
was just thinking "i wanna see we raise our cups", opened youtube, there it was, first row of the recommended page. just writing this as a reminder that theyre watching us 😳

Goodnight, brother. Goodnight. That always gets me
We raise our cups is the song I want on my funeral

That guitar is so beautiful but I always get so anxious seeing Reeve run around with it on his back because one fall and it’s going to break lol

I didn't realize it was Eurydice singing with her! Nice touch
Me: Dont cry
Yeah this is like one of the most beautiful songs in the show
The touring cast dedicated this song to Stephen Sondheim the other night 💖 what a beautiful tribute.

I like how after all the changes made to this musical over the years to refine it, this song hasn't changed since the concept album

thank you so damn much for uploading this! I actually cried watching... being an actress is my dream job, but I'll probably won't achieve it
I just saw this show tonight and I literally cried during this song. It was just so amazing.
Honestly a wonderful song and a brilliant curtain call ending. Thanks for sharing! x
