found out via twitter, the reason why the guitar is so djenty and different on this release is because Jason Richardson helped write the guitars for the song.
I got one more thought, you know Ronnie could’ve gone for the Zombified, Popular Monster, Watch the World Burn formula and would’ve had a track that set the internet on fire and would’ve been sure fire platinum. He knows that formula and easily could’ve done that. Yet, he went way out in left field and produced the hardest FIR song to date. Even with Tech Nine on the track which would’ve been a proper time to really get heavy into the Hip Hop community. Yet, here we are with a true metal and almost Deathcore sounding song. I feel like he did this because he knows he can. I think his status to this point has allowed him an opportunity to take a risk and that’s what they did with this one.
Based on some other clips I’ve seen around, it may be for a video for a new STP song called “Kid of Darkness.” Either way, I think Alex and Ronnie have clicked pretty well from touring/working together. I’m sure there will be more.
@@RyanLoper9 we see i don't know because Alex said the K.O.D song would be coming out soon but the post with him in that stuff said coming in December so 🤷🤷 Also it doesn't feel like that slaughter and looks like something from FIR, i could be wrong but we'll see
@@yonsetv5223 that is a good point about the timing discrepancies. Only thing I can think is maybe they want to release the single before the video is ready. However, I’m. Def not going to complaint if it’s another FIR collab! 🤘🏻
I had to watch this five times before I finally pieced everything together, mentally. I wanted an Alex breakdown in an FIR song and I got it. I wanted a Tech Nine verse in an FIR song and I got it. I’ve been saying these two things for about 8 months now. You won’t catch me complaining about shit. Ronnie heard me, Ronnie delivered. I’m golden.
I don't think Alex was meant to be a stand out feature but rather to show that Ronnie can get just as brutal with his vocals. Almost as a litmus test, with Alex being one of those vocalists that come to mind when thinking of filthy vocals. Ronnie was proving his range directly against one of the best currently doing it.
No that's Ronnie. lol Alex is only in that final segment. I've heard Ronnie growl ever since the ETF days and that's definitely him doing the lows. Alex is very recognizable. That wasn't him.
It definitely gets better with every play. I started off not vibing with it because it was more metal than their usual stuff, but after each play I find I like it more and more. The visuals are amazing and I definitely think there will be another song and video highlighting Alex Terrible’s vocals. Great job FIR! This one is definitely going on my road rage playlist for morning commutes. 😁
I personally loved it, If you go back an listen to it you can hear both Alex and Ronnie different growls synced in together, if you cant tell the difference then most likely ya haven't heard Alex music as much because the moment i heard the demon growl i knew right away it was Alex because he has a very unique sound to it. Ronnie's is more high pitch and Alex's is more low tone demon like, you can tell them apart. Not to mention if you have listened to Ronnie's first Falling In Reverse album that people tend to forget he had some really heavy songs in it like "(sink or swim) (Don't mess with Ouija boards) (Goodbye Graceful)" then you have become familiar with Ronnie's growls and screams as well listening more to Slaughter to Prevail and getting to know their own voice sound you can tell them apart in an instant but hey each its own. For those who cant tell i do advice listening to it over again like how Johnny said
Nail on the head with the fact that Alex was underutilized here. It's the exact same thing with the Jacoby Shaddix feature on Hip To Be Scared. I can hear him once someone pointed out that he was singing the last part, but the tones they used are so similar that i barely caught it on first listen.
Jeris Johnson is also on his tour, he's also does alot of rap. Tech being on his tour is awesome and I think it's going to work out great, I've seen Tech live and FIR live so I think the fans are going to love it personally.
Also, Tech Nine does his singing rap shit all the time. Not sure why that was an issue. He almost always, in my experience, goes double time and then slows it back down. The half time also contrasts with the beginning bit, and then the end. It’s almost like a purgatory of sorts.
Agreed. I didn't like that Ronnie and Alex was going back and forth. You could hardly tell who's screaming what. It was so confusing. lmao Also, Alex felt like he was massively held back in this track. We really didn't hear him do his lows.
Man, Jason Richardson is really helping various bands put out some bangers, between this with Falling In Reverse and then him being in the new iteration of All That Remains.
I think Alex Terrible is in the song to compliment Ronnie’s vocals. Also, Ronnie has been accused so many times for years of not knowing how to the heavier vocals. So I think one of the purposes of this song was to show he can match Alex’s growls pretty damn well.
I’m with Nath. You couldn’t tell Alex was there. He really needed to be more predominant if Alex and Ronny were going to sing together. Other than that epic song. Can’t wait for the rest of the album.
I 100% agree. They didn't utilize Alex well in this track. Alex really need to stand out with his growls but he just didn't. Ronnie and Alex just sounds way too similar and it's really difficult to even guess who is who. It's still a banger song don't get me wrong. But as a huge Slaughter to Prevail fan as well, I just wish Alex was done justice. Knowing the beast that he is. But then again, since Alex probably wasn't with the band when this song was written, and had his recordings done in Russia and they solely collaborated through online. They might not have had a chance to work well together. But that's just my speculations though...Really do wish that Alex part was done better.
I will always want more of Alex in any song he’s featured in, but I did like how he was utilized here when considering the visuals with it. That being said, it was a little confusing until multiple listens to realize Alex’s part was sort of a lyrical battle with Ronnie. I also really enjoyed all of Tech N9ne’s part. The wicked double bass that kicks in after is siiiiick. Good luck if that’s put in a “try not to head bang challenge.” I don’t know how true it is, but I’ve read that Alex gave Ronnie “guttural” vocal lessons or pointers when they toured together last year. If that’s the case, it’s kinda cool to see them doing super harsh vocals on the track together. The more I’ve listened to the song, the somewhat less chaotic it becomes and I really enjoy it.
" sex change could get you caught up in death range, he pled sane but really imitating Ed Gain " while friends with Alex Terrible and Tom MacDonald is crazy considering what Tom advocates for and Alex's 'past'
Should have definitely had Alex do stuff by himself and then duo vocals with Ronnie….. but it’s still cool I guess. I didn’t even realize it was him till I saw the comments because it was really layered
Thank you for pointing that out Nath because that was my first thought after i heard the ending. Why would you feature alex terrible but overlay your vocals higher and not give him a solo like tech 9 got. It was hard to differentiate between them except for the back and forth.
I totally agree with your opinion. I think it should have been more apparent what was Ronnie and what was Alex. I think watching Alex turning into the demon would have been cool af. I think the Alex Ronnie battle should have at minimum been 1 minute.
I agree with Nath. Instead of 2 dueling lows at the end Ronnie should have done highs instead to contrast which they actually did at the end when they screamed together. I saw this like 30 mins after it dropped and there were no feats in the title. Then I saw the mask drop thinking it was just an easter egg but I never realised it was actually Alex until I read the comments.
New falling in reverse is amazing and this song is fucking banger, ronnie scream & growl is another level like so low and then luke holland play the drum like machine gun, i love this song yeah 🤘🔥🔥🔥
I've listened to this 10 times or more already. It's absolutely brutal and brilliant. Has Ronnie done anything wrong over the last few years? Probably the best in the industry atm
Yeah, I feel like in the opening vocal run of the Alex feature, if it was Alex solo instead of both of them together it would be better. You only hear Alex on hos own for a couple words at a time in a couple sections
I absolutely loved it! But I also do get what you were saying about Alex. But I also know that Ronnie does nothing on accident, he knows how great Alex is, so I wonder if there might be other features with Alex on the album.
Glad you blokes got into this 👏👏 In relation to Alex’s short stint, maybe he was asked to play the part of the devil/demon/Balrog as it would be strange for Ronnie to be screaming at himself in hell…. (Although he has screamed at himself in the past 😂).
