You can see why he has been on television for so long. He’s strong, takes care of himself. I’m glad he’s with Kevin, who’s very respectful and sensitive to the people he interviews.

We lost everything in a house fire many years ago. People meant well when they said it’s just stuff. That didn’t help. Your home is your safe place away from the world. Having that gone suddenly is trauma.
Our real shelter is in Christ, & Christ alone.♥✝ Who walks w/us & carries us through everything too hard to bear, till we’re w/Him in His Perfect & Glorious Heaven, forevermore!💜🙌
I too lost my home to a brush fire in 1986. It feels like a violation to lose everything that way. Then the fight with insurance, cleanup, finding a place to stay and construction(if you choose) is all a huge toll. It changes a bit of you forever. This is the time to love one another and help where you can.
Yea, they worked so hard to make their houses fireproof. Sort of like how the obese work so hard to learn how to eat naturally. It's not any of their faults. Next year it will be the same. Nobody knew fires could happen in the desert.
But he has a good life Probably so it's not so painful to lose materialistic things since he can't take it with him after he dies He looks old, you can see
@@Lynn-dw4gj He's actually lived an extraordinary life. He survived WWII in Germany, he came to the US and started over, he was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer nearly two years ago and survived. He's one of those rare Hollywood actors who has been married to his college sweetheart for almost 59 years. His nearly 84 years on this earth haven't always been easy and a bed of roses, but he is a fighter who has overcome the odds again and again. Now he and his wife have lost their home of 45 years, but knowing him and the fighter he's always been I'm sure he'll rebuild his home and rise from the ashes as he's done in the past.
💔The video of that poor little baby mule deer crying as it trotted, stopped, & walked aimlessly in the smoke on the road, before trotting again, haunts me.💔 Just so lost, looking around for anything to help it!💔 I cannot believe no one tried to help that helpless little baby, separated from its mother!😭 No way could I have videoed that & kept going! That would have come in my SUV!!! And delivered to a shelter. It probably didn’t make it.💔😭
Eric and his family have my sympathies. It's devastating that he lost his 45-year shelter after first developing cancer. We sympathize with you. I'm sending you and your family prayers, love, and hugs during this trying time.
They need to go on to continuous counseling after this. Fortunately, they live in the US where the government will help them out one way or the other. I remember clearly the fire was swallowing dozens of homes in my neighborhood back in South East Asia. The government of the country I lived in didn't offer much help. So, you literally lose everything. My uncle in-law was so depressed and died 6months later. He was in his 50s.
I lost my home on 18 October 2024 to a fire and I have been very calm about it because I lost only things. I am still alive. And starting over at 72 allows me to rebuild my life very small. I have yet to go into the ashes after the first time. I lost original photographs 72 years old plus photos of my great grandparents of 1866. All clothing, jewelry, antique furniture everything. But I am alive. God be praised for that.
I am sincerely deeply sorry for your incredible loss. ❤ I sincerely wish for you all the success in rebuilding your life. When they say “home is where the heart is” it’s true. I cannot to even begin to imagine how devastating it is, especially to lose irreplaceable items such as your Great-Grandparents’ photos. However, regardless of space, big or small, will become your home ❤ Much peace and love you ❤🕊️
Your attitude and positive take on your devastating loss is an inspiration to so many at this particular time. I hope you are keeping well as of today and continue to spread your positivity and compassion to others.
After years of watching Y and R I liked this man not only because of his talent but also the feeling that he would talk to a fan a stranger with kindness. God speed to you Eric Braeden and everyone who lost their homes in this tragedy.
I love how he is talking about how proud of his son he is while standing in what is left of his house. Watched him on Y&R all my life. He will definitely rebuild and make it better than ever. ❤you
What a beautiful interview. Really captures how painful losing a home is no matter how much money someone has. A home is more than just things a person/family owns. I noticed he talked about the memories he has of experiences from the home much more than material possessions. One final note - Eric Braeden looks phenomenal at 83. Just a wonderful, emotional segment.
I don’t care if you’re rich and famous or just the guy next door. This is devastating for everyone that has lost their homes. Yes, some are more fortunate than others and have the finances to rebuild, but you can’t replace 45 years of memories that were in that home. You have them in your heart, but precious memories likes photos and memorabilia can’t be replaced. My heart goes out to every single person that has being affected by these terrifying fires. 😔
Eric is a very nice man. I used to live in Scottsdale Arizona and we drove to LA to the price is right. At CBS studios, The Young and Restless was taped at same place. One time, Eric parked in his parking spot close to the entrance. I screamed " Hey Victor!!!" He looked at me and waved back. Very nice gentleman. He humored me. What a real person. I feel his pain so much for his home.
Same here... my mommom would make me watch YnR in the living room and tell her what was going on as she cleaned up the dishes from lunch in the kitchen. Victor Abbott was the man! Hope he rebuilds better than ever!
He is such a nice man in person. I met him when I was working in a hotel in Toronto about 30 years ago. He is charming. I am so sorry Eric for you and your family.
And he admirably called Trump an "orange idiot" for trying to blame these drought-fueled, wind-driven fires on the delta smelt, which became irrelevant to L.A.'s pragmatic water supply. The terrain these fires burn in makes it impossible to stop fast moving flames, short of an area-wide downpour. Maybe Braeden will start an all-out campaign to shut down Trump/GOP global warming denial and general lack of respect for nature, e.g. "a worthless fish."
I meet Mr.Eric back in the 90’s before He did Titanic/ He was in the same restaurant as me on Sunset Boulevard/ I politely waited for him to finish having lunch with his family and I went up to him and asked him that he was my mom‘s favorite actor on daytime soaps/ he talk to me about five or six minutes very polite, elegant, humble man/ I’m seeing this interview and he hasn’t really changed same man more older, but first class all the way great human being
I'm in my 50's. Eric has been a part of our lives here since I was a young boy. I am grateful for his strong personality and I couldn't possibly feel any worse for him as I do right now. We love you, God bless you and all those affected by this tragedy. 💜💜
I'm also in my 50s. Yes, he was one of my favorite Actors when I was in my younger lady youth years ago. Mr. Braeden says that he was in that home for 45 years. My Heart mourns for all of them whom homes perished in the fire.
The fact that he shared his pain with the world shows he has a great generosity of spirit even in this tragic time Want to express love to him, his family, all these people ..we feel this suffering

I’ve been a loyal fan since the first day of Young And The Restless and Eric Braeden is like a “friend” to me. I am so very sorry this has happened to him and his family. Stay strong. So many people love you!
He is a friend to many. I was surprised to hear he could stay in that house for all those years. I thought of Hollywood tour buses going to view the homes of the stars, of the fans constantly coming by to check him out and to take pictures.. it seemed there would be so much that’s changed in the past 50 years and a lack of privacy. That’s wonderful that the home where he raised his family could remain his for all those years.⭐️

His grief is raw and my heart breaks for all who lost their lives and homes. I grew up in the Pacific Palisades and I know how beautiful is it to live so close to the ocean, where I learned how to swim at Will Rogers State Beach. Wondering if my old home is still standing. My dad worked so hard to create a walkout basement with a family room, bathroom and bedroom on the weekends when he was working for Howard Hughes. Those were the glory days. Can't help crying. Can't imagine what it will take to rebuild a whole town.
It's not only this beautiful house that was lost, but all the beautiful memories inside this house. Photos, Emmys, awards, paintings, sentimental things, children rooms, eating areas to gather. I know beautiful memories are permanently engraved in their hearts that can never be destroyed. My heart goes out to Eric and his family. May they rebuild and fill their house once again with love & more cherished memories. God Bless you, Eric, your family, and all the people affected by this devastating fire. We are all thinking of you and praying for you all. 🙏 ❤
I put this on FB. In my feed section it was posted! So sad for a dear man and family and all they have been through. Our prayers and thoughts are with them now and always! Also the rest of L.A. God Bless!
I've gotten surprisingly emotional just moving out of dorm rooms and apartments that i thought i didn't even give a crap about. It would just hit you. The finality. The memories. The change. All of it. That was after a few months or a couple of years. It must be mind boggling after 45 years! Especially seeing it completely destroyed.
Such deep pain, such a devastating loss. Continuing to pray for all affected by the fires. Eric Braeden is one of my favorite actors. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family.
In 2020 extremely high winds drove fires throughout Oregon. My family home burned to the ground. Now 4/5 years later much has been rebuilt and things are looking much better! There's hope after much grief.
I wish I could give Eric a hug, because it’s heart breaking to see Eric cry, hear his stories about great memories of his house. Then to hear his traumatic memories of growing up in WWII triggering him.
I used to watch him on young and restless 😬..so sad 😢..I'm crying for him and California..and everyone who has gone through a disaster 💔..stay strong and together.
This really saddens me. I once encountered Mr. Braeden at a BBQ restaurant in NC. I winked at him, and he winked back and smiled. I didn’t want to draw attention to him, as he was simply enjoying his meal. I’ll never forget that moment and my prayers are with him and others experiencing this tragedy 🙏🏾💫
While of two minds about this fire, I know one thing is for sure no one should lose their homes and precious memories like this (or at all). This is heartbreaking.
Aww 😢 I love Victor! It's so heartbreaking seeing him like this. Stay strong! My mom loved you and she got me hooked on you too 💖💖💖 Prayers going out to you and all that are affected 🙏 this is devastating!
My childhood home, my community , my brothers home all burned in the cedar fire. I learned something important, stuff, even homes are just stuff that can be taken away in a second but your memories as long as you keep your health are the only things you can hold on to until you pass.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-21
His words are so on point. The loss of anything is jarring. He leaves a hole in your soul. Yes you can rebuild but there are memories forever gone. You can not retain ever second of your life that’s why photos are so dear. May all hearts heal as quickly as possible
This breaks my heart for ALL those who have lost everything. The years building a life together with is still there in wonderful memories. My prayers are with you all.
This is so sad… whether you’re rich poor famous or not it doesn’t matter your home is your home. God bless you Eric and everyone else who’s lost their homes & cherish belongings.
Mr. Braeden, Sir, I feel very sorry for your loss. Over 20 years ago, during an internship at the Goethe Institute, I was also invited to your house. You have been a very kind host and I appreciate what you are doing besides acting. Lots of love & prayers to you and your family from Germany.
I'm so sorry. We had a total gut fire when our 6 kids were still young - days before Christmas. After the shock and grieving, gratitude starts filling your thoughts. Then, the joy and fun of rebuilding. Everyone got to have a say in what they wanted - mostly their rooms. Joy returns ❤ Prayers and love for you, your family, and everyone affected by this destruction.
He did one of my favorite "watch out the future is coming" movies Colossus: The Forbin Project. And I remember Rat Patrol too. I feel bad for them all but that community was more like a real neighborhood than other parts of LA. even though there were a lot of actors.. Bless him he's thinking of rebuilding like they did after WWII.
I saw an interview he had in his home. It was a warm, lovely home. 😢❤ He looks just like my father and my older brother. They both died, and I love to watch Y&R because watching Victor Newman is like being with them. ❤
It’s ok to cry. My parents lost everything in a house fire back in 2006. When my dad got called home from his offshore job. He broke down. My heart hurt for their pain. But at least the survived.
I'm so sorry Eric Braeden lost your home You've been through so much with your cancer and now this my heart goes out to you and your family when one door close another door opens I will pray for you and all the others that has lost so much God bless you and your family ❤️🙏🏻
So sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you and your family are safe. My mother loved the Young and the Restless. She is deceased now so I watch it when I am able. Continued prayers for you, your family, and all of the families that have been affected.
I love Eric Braeden. He’s a great man. My dad lost his house in a fire. It was because of wind. The house next store was started by arson. It was a windy day. The ambers started my dad’s house on fire. It’s an awful feeling. Praying 🙏🏼 for all of these people.
I saw that one of the volunteers that was there to help was a survivor of the Paradise, CA fire. That was so nice. She can help counsel these people and help them during this difficult time. Prayers.
I was crying just watching the devastation on the news and seeing how much these fires have affected everyone including all the actors and actresses that lost their homes in those wildfires ❤❤
Rich or poor, losing your home is one hell of a gut punch. Sending love and good vibes to everyone in the LA fires.
Well put.
You are right. No matter how rich.
But the rich can rebuild the poor are left off on their own
Well spoken💞

It's not only this beautiful house that was lost, but all the beautiful memories inside this house. Photos, Emmys, awards, paintings, sentimental things, children rooms, eating areas to gather. I know beautiful memories are permanently engraved in their hearts that can never be destroyed. My heart goes out to Eric and his family. May they rebuild and fill their house once again with love & more cherished memories. God Bless you, Eric, your family, and all the people affected by this devastating fire. We are all thinking of you and praying for you all. 🙏 ❤
With NOTHING left to pass down to the children and grandchildren.
N O T H I N G is left. 😪
IT’S all gone.
😪absolutely stunning
i hope he took the most precious memories out of the house before it was destroyed.
I put this on FB. In my feed section it was posted! So sad for a dear man and family and all they have been through. Our prayers and thoughts are with them now and always! Also the rest of L.A. God Bless!
Praying to Eric and all of those impacted by these fires.
If I ever face a disaster, Kevin can stand beside me. Wonderful support.
My fiancé (now my husband) asked why was I winking at that white man, I said that’s Victor Newman 😉🤣
@Beworthy, That's just like, Eric to do that. A very charming individual. All best wishes.
My heart goes out to a Eric and his family. Sending so much love.
While of two minds about this fire, I know one thing is for sure no one should lose their homes and precious memories like this (or at all). This is heartbreaking.
Despite playing such an awesome villain, Eric seems like a great guy.
Aww 😢 I love Victor! It's so heartbreaking seeing him like this.
Stay strong! My mom loved you and she got me hooked on you too 💖💖💖
Prayers going out to you and all that are affected 🙏 this is devastating!
As someone who has lost everything to a fire it’s the photos and moments in those rooms that rebuild can’t replace
3 generations in our household ❤ Mr Eric Braedon as we all enjoyed Y&R. Still watching today. This guy has always been a humble soul.
To all the citizens of LA my heart goes out to all .
I'm feel terrible for him and EVERYONE affected.
Absolutely heartbreaking. 💔
Funny you say that because it's all I'm reduced to!
All of us working class and we haven't any fires.
I'm so so sorry Eric that you lost your home! I hope you will be able to rebuild your home soon.
So sorry for Eric and everyone from the devastation . Enjoyed watching Y&R for many years. ❤
Y&R fan here. I've been watching since I was a child and I'm in my 50's. May God bless you and your family with a lovely new home.
Oh wow the irony of him as Victor just rebuilding his home on the show that was lost to fire. So heartbreaking for people.
That part! This was my initial thought seeing the video while scrolling.
That's weird.
Haven’t seen that show in decades.
That’s pretty wild, though.
Always liked ‘Victor’ & his rivalry w/Jack. Assuming it’s still on. (The rivalry)
Thanks. I thought that was him.😊
Really? That might help him to digest this just that little bit, in order to grieve
Mr. Braeden, Sir, I feel very sorry for your loss. Over 20 years ago, during an internship at the Goethe Institute, I was also invited to your house. You have been a very kind host and I appreciate what you are doing besides acting. Lots of love & prayers to you and your family from Germany.
My heart goes out to Eric. He is a strong man and he will rebuild his life there.
That was an emotional interview. I feel sorry for Eric and everyone who lost their home. 😥
I'm so sorry. We had a total gut fire when our 6 kids were still young - days before Christmas.
After the shock and grieving, gratitude starts filling your thoughts.
Then, the joy and fun of rebuilding. Everyone got to have a say in what they wanted - mostly their rooms.
Joy returns ❤
Prayers and love for you, your family, and everyone affected by this destruction.
You're so right about gratitude. Thankful for life and strength to rebuild.
He is blessed that he can rebuild. Not everyone can. He's in his eighties, so I don't know how much fun it's going to be for him.
I feel so bad for Eric. He is one of my favorite actors. I first saw him in "The Rat Patrol" and have been a fan ever since.
I remember RAT PATROL . He was in TITANIC remake.
SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR HOME I WAS SORRY TO HEAR THIS. GOD BLESS YOU AND FAMILY 🙏
He had been there for 45 years such a tragedy
No he had 45 years of Y&R pictures and stuff. He bought the house from a Seinfeld writer.
@@paulmaggio8866Yeah I'm confused could it have been a writer that later on wrote for Seinfeld?
God bless him & all those who have suffered loss 🙏🏻
I saw an interview he had in his home. It was a warm, lovely home. 😢❤ He looks just like my father and my older brother. They both died, and I love to watch Y&R because watching Victor Newman is like being with them. ❤
He made me cry love ya Eric
It’s ok to cry. My parents lost everything in a house fire back in 2006. When my dad got called home from his offshore job. He broke down. My heart hurt for their pain. But at least the survived.
So sorry for your loss. I didn't know he was 83. He looks great.❤
... and talking about rebuilding at his age. Just wow.
Right!!! I’m still crushing on Eric❤❤
He been in the acting game a long time and I'm 47 years old
He is in way better shape than me at half his age. He puts in the time.
Love and prayers to him and his family. He seems such a gentlemen. ❤️🙏🏻
Im so sorry you lost your home god bless you
So sorry this happened to you and others 💓
I met Mr Eric Braeden in my hometown, woodstock ontario canada some years ago ❤️

I lost my home in 2013 and been homeless ever since 😢I’m sober 24 years and have good health. I’m blessed 🙏

I'm so sorry Eric Braeden lost your home You've been through so much with your cancer and now this my heart goes out to you and your family when one door close another door opens I will pray for you and all the others that has lost so much God bless you and your family ❤️🙏🏻
Such an elegant, cultivated man! So sorry😢
Love to you Eric and all others who experienced this immense loss. Keep 👊 fighting! We pray for you all!!
So sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you and your family are safe. My mother loved the Young and the Restless. She is deceased now so I watch it when I am able. Continued prayers for you, your family, and all of the families that have been affected.
I'm So Sorry😢. I have no words to lift you up.... Thank God You and Family got out. I know Home is Home. I PRAY FOR YOU AND YOUR COMMUNITY.
I feel so sorry for everyone in LA. Prayers.
I love Eric Braeden. He’s a great man. My dad lost his house in a fire. It was because of wind. The house next store was started by arson. It was a windy day. The ambers started my dad’s house on fire. It’s an awful feeling. Praying 🙏🏼 for all of these people.
I love this actor. Feel so bad for him and his family. God bless him. Hope he rebuilds.
