I like felling of dread the fight has: the reversed Boss Rush music, the rampaging god that was lost to time, the dark void for the background with shadows of Draedon, Yarim, and Supreme Calamitas. all of this probably has the Terrarian thinking "what have I done?" "Why did Myself in this much danger?" "what's the point of fighting when I'm at the end?" "I shouldn't be here, so why am I here?" all of the dread that it gives with pretty neat attacks makes it an epic Fight with the fact that it's an unused Boss makes it 10x better! (Sorry for the wall of text)
Is it just me or does it seem heavily inspired by a few infernum mode bosses Edit: Turns out the mod was made by Dominic, the creator of Infernum mode. Makes sense. There's DoG's portal dash, ceaseless void bullet hell, Ares' dashing towards the screen, Scal's brothers' attacking from both sides
This looks pretty neat. massive props for being a boss that exists in the calamity endgame that is neither 'restricts the fight to a small area' nor 'build a world arena and never let go of the D button.' That's a problem I've seen a lot. Overall, very well done, especially in regards to the visuals. I'd say my biggest criticism is that the difficulty does seem a little all over the place -- most attacks look decently challenging, but there are a few that seem a lot simpler than the rest and a few (like the fan of lasers which I don't think you ever managed to dodge here) that look borderline unavoidable. Challenging is fine, even borderline unavoidable might be fine, but it should be consistent. Visuals are cool but it can make some attacks hard to read. Noxus isn't super expressive, and the speed of the animations only enhances that issue. The death animation, too, is a little underwhelming.
Yeah, it seems really all over the place. I do get they were trying to be someone accurate to the original concept, but it might've been better if they either went all in on making it cool, or simply made it completely accurate and created a joke boss.
The fan of lasers is fine, Polaritz was just way too close to the boss to dodge them, and the positioning with RPC makes it really weird. I've seen quite a lot of fights with him considering I saw Dom posting teasers and tbh I think the usage of RPC specifically here is what makes it look bad. The fight looks a lot more fair when using basically any other weapon because it doesn't demand you be directly under him for 90% of the fight lmao.
I am really hoping that Relogic whenever they make Terraria 2, they take the standards of their Mod Community into their design. Since even eith the restrictions terraria has people made stuff like this. Imagine what relogic could do without all those restrictions.
Ok, I can see it better now. The attack pattern feels a *bit* generic in many areas, but I like its use of teleportation and how it is used to keep the player moving. I think the fight would probably be better if it was just shorter, given it seems to take a while to kill (could he wrong though, idk if he was using the correct gear or not) and that many of its phases repeat attacks.
@@jimboanimations4041 I'm guessing Polaritz used the HP buff config, since it's a good bit higher than usual. Also much of the generic attacks at the start are a consequence of the fact that the boss has its roots in the questionably designed Fandom idea (which is where the boss name came from). The later stuff was made in spite of that though, since its ideas for later phases were... really generic to a point that it wouldn't have been fun to work on
@@lucillekarma Also, I will add one thing: The attack pattern has actually grown on me a little bit, so I will take back some of what I was saying there. My only real grievance is how it can be a part hard to tell what is going on in the later phases.
Got mixed feeling about this one: the screen crashing is very cool, many attacks are fine, it reminds me of magolor, but it feels near impossible to no-hit, the death animation is very anticlimatic, and it commits something I consider a sin, that being ‘firing a burst of projectiles on a dash attack like it’s a fucking primal aspid’. also is it just me or why are there shadows of draedon sometimes?
This is nowhere close to impossible to nohit. Lots of its attacks are pretty easy, including the primal aspid attack, and I had more than enough time to move out of the way for them. The only hard attack for nohitting was the 3D laser cause I didn't see the screen-hit for some reason. Also the shadows of Draedon are a reference to a debuff on this fandom boss' page.
@@somesnakeoilsalesman7082The projrctile patterns are too erratic, the dash attacks have close to no telegraph for a massive hitbox, that downdash into projectile wall in phase 1 requires insame precision
Is this a post supreme calamitas or pre supreme calamitas fight that's all I need to know so I can decide if I want this mod or not. I really feel like infernum should of added a boss that's harder than calamitas like some unknown threat that gets thrown into the world with surreal odds that even supreme calamitas feared.
I have to wonder, why should anyone expect this boss to be balanced, really? This is *Calamity endgame* we’re talking about lol. I wouldn’t have tried balancing something around its insane speed and damage potential either. Not that one should completely ignore balance or anything. And Noxus does seem at least a little balanced, from what I can tell.
@Lynel5240 we tried our best lol to be more specific, the people who tested him all did it with endgame gear (including some very powerful weapons), and we made sure that, all things considered, Nox wouldn't die _too_ fast to your average shadowspec weapon. Of course, there's only so much you can do at a stage of progression where there is no balance to speak of -which is why the boss has a tiny bit of limited RDR- so I'd reasonally expect at least a few weapons to tear the poor guy to shreds, and for a few to barely scratch him. As for things like tankiness and speed, well. Kinda a similar deal :p but there was definitely some effort put into testing and balancing this fight
@@lglmaking1694 I can certainly see that. I honestly think the one thing that really holds it down in terms of balancing is how it has moments where it stands still for an extended period of time. It gives the player a free opportunity to go ham and use rage/adrenaline.
