    Yay for shrink wrapping. I would add a few of the pine scented icicles or something with a Christmas scent that you like (cotton balls with essential oils or sprayed with room spray, etc.) so that your tree doesn't end up smelling like plastic when you unwrap it next year. The shrink wrap can kind of marinate its scent into the tree and decorations.

      Interesting idea! I like the cotton ball suggestion. In the years that we have done this, we have actually never had an issue with a plastic smell. My only concern with leaving wet oils and sprays in a shrink wrapped enclosure for a year is the possible humidity and bacterial growth that could come from that 😅

    Love your idea about storing wreaths vertically in a bin! I usually hang mine on a hanger and cover them with a clear dry cleaning bag, and then hang them from hooks in my attic. My way does work well, but I like having another option!

    • @FarmhousebyAmitha
      @FarmhousebyAmitha  2 года назад

      Your idea sounds good, too! Vertically storing wreaths is also worth a try if you ever want to switch it up or save a bit more space. It's just about finding what works for you 😊

    Great ideas. However every year i decorate differently every year so definitely do not shrink wrap tree decorated. But i find that works for actually storing tree bc you can wrap tightly and definitely take less space.

      When the container store, Walmart, Target, and craft stores don't have what I am looking for, I just search on Amazon for storage containers. I hope that helps 😅

    Your should always wrap your expensive glass ornaments in Acid Free Tissue paper. Regular tissue paper will eventually take off the paint and design, trust me I learned this the hard way. I bought a huge pack on Amazon. I purchased my ornament storage from Balsam Hill; their expensive but worth it.

    My BF and I keep a skinny tree at the top of the stairs, no ornaments, only lights. We pop it into a tall tree bag and put in the attic. We keep a small 3’ tree on the screened porch, lights and ornaments, and pop that one into a clear lawn and leaf bag. Other trees are disassembled and decorations stored separately.

    • @FarmhousebyAmitha

      That's a brilliant idea for storing a skinny tree! I love the simplicity. Thank you for sharing your organization hacks 😊

    I have too many ornaments to put into dividers so I usually just use the tissue from the old presents and wrap all individually

    I wish I could shrink wrap my tree but I don’t have anywhere to store it that way.

    • @FarmhousebyAmitha
      @FarmhousebyAmitha  2 года назад +1

      I understand that! For me, I find that it doesn't actually take up any more room than storing it in a box. I'd suggest you give it a try at least once, and if it doesn't work for you, go back to the way you typically do it 🙂

  • @paulajames6149
    @paulajames6149 2 года назад +1

    It would be a nay for me. It is because I do not decorate my trees the same every year. I like to combine different colors and textures to make a “new” tree. And also, I don’t think it is that much work to take down ornaments and put them back in.

    • @FarmhousebyAmitha
      @FarmhousebyAmitha  2 года назад

      Totally understandable! I know it's not for everyone, but I like that the option is there 😊

  • @fernebeaman8240
    @fernebeaman8240 2 года назад

    Yay if you have room to store it but it does take up a lot of prime real estate.

    • @FarmhousebyAmitha
      @FarmhousebyAmitha  2 года назад

      I can understand that! With how much space all the containers can take up, that's why my husband just shrink wraps the whole tree 😅 Whichever method you use, you'll always need some space to store away your holiday decor. Just depends on your home and your preference ❤️
