Kissland is such an underrated album. Yes the songs are long but they actually have a deep meaning behind them. (Edit:I’m so happy that he’s finally giving love to Tears in the Rain that song helped me thru breakups in 2013 and 2014 and is my personal favorite song on the album)
@@wasdtomove8705 not a bro and two creators making a video examining the career of one of the most popular current music artists in the world doesn't mean anyone ripped anything off, it's not like it's some obscure topic😅
The Weeknds music represents every man & his dark twisted mind, no matter how normal/PC he seems....His music is what men want to say but can't, its what women want to hear but are scared to. The reason why his music is well received is because he delivers the dark content with a angelic voice & great production....ts like mixing the medicine with a sandwich 💀
All of his albums I first listened to at different points in my life and his music really has a deep impact that no other artist has had. Crazy how life works
I ALWAYS had the feeling that Dawn FM has instances where it called back to his older music and events of his life. I’m glad to see someone agreed to it
I saw this on my homepage and clicked to watch it later, half-way through I checked the description and saw you only have 43 subs??? I'm actually shocked, I assumed this was a big channel. Keep it up, great video & your voice fits the genre well. I would lovee if you did a video on Lana Del Rey :D
The Weeknd is literally my number 1 artist ever since i first heard XO/The Host i had it on replay alot then i heard Wicked Games when i got to highschool and kept that on replay love all his work since
HOB and MDM is a fucking masterpiece, theyve been with me since my breakup after a 3 year relationship, im now 8 months single, so much better and im ready to get back out there, Abel is a genious, XOTWOD
Man, I am a huge Weeknd fan and this was a great video. Everything from the content itself in your analysis of your career, to even your voiceover and articulation of the points you made, it all sounded great! Have a great rest of your day 😃
It's not a masculine need to hesitate to be fully vulnerable in a relationship. Hesitation is a human thing. People do that when they don't think they're fully ready or prepared to deal with intimacy
i truly believe that die for you is one of his most misunderstood songs. Most of the people i know think of it as a "love song" or like you said a vulnerable song. He is showing his feelings to a woman, something that you don't hear/see often from the weeknd. But for me, it will always be a manipulative song. he is going through it with a relationship, he don't want to end, but also don't want to fully commit to it. And he is saying things like "i would die for you" so that he doesn't lose her. it is the line "i'm finding ways to manipulate the feeling you're going through". He is trying to manipulate her, thinking, he really thinks i am the one for him - but really she is just one of many...
I found his music particularly relatable in high school, as I felt it closely represented what I was going through by being a dumb fuckboy teen my sophomore and Junior years, when BBTM was all the rage before being succeeded by Starboy and MDM. I basically went through a similar life evolution of: • Starting out as a nobody my freshman year, being kinda awkward and nerdy. But at the end of the year I was somehow “befriended” by the jock crowd, and they basically transformed me into one of them. • Prioritized the guys, women and drugs/alcohol over my grades, causing them to tank. But idc because I was having fun…until it all came crashing down when I got exposed for fucking my pre-fuckboy best-friend’s girl. • Went through a “depressed fuckboy” stage early junior year where I was just getting with women to try to feel something, but was “running out of options” because everyone was abandoning me, either because of me being exposed as a cheater, or because I was getting so depressed I didn’t really wanna go out anymore. It wasn’t until I was pulled out of my stupor by my new best friend that I snapped out of it. So while I associate The Weeknd’s music with a dark period of my life, I’m still somehow…sentimental, or “nostalgic” maybe. Idk. Sorry for the long read, just needed to vent
First video and quality of your content is already like a channel with million subs. Hope you reach that mark very soon❤ Next video on anything about Taylor swift as she's everywhere rn?
Thanks to his songs, I'm becoming more bitter, better and toxic because I want to be single until I die and my intention with girls is to just hang out with them for a day and never see them again. Thanks The Weekend, your music has transformed me to not be in a relationship which is a good thing
Production is par with AfterSchool and such channels. The content and the knowledge you share is also great. I grew up on the weeknd and I would try to understand him in order to understand myself and this is a great analysis.
@@freeze9295 I have very few of his songs on one of my playlist, but I barely pay attention to what he is saying, I know he is levels for sure but he is more of a heavy production artist to me, and that can get fatiguing

My favorite album 😊

Tears in the rain 🔥
Great video, so many people just label Abel's music as toxic and misogynistic but there's so many layers of self awareness and longing in his lyrics.
