- Is there any relevance to these goddesses if you don't have a horse?

Wow, that is a lofty goal. I like to think it's never too late. And I feel like so long as we are working toward that goal then we are doing good things.
Very good and accurate info about the sovereignty goddess and the connection to the land. Very insightful.
Thanks!
I've been hiking around North Wales for the past month and have seen the mountain ponies, never workeduch with horse goddesses prior but I definitely think I should now!
That sounds like a lovely time. There's nothing like seeing ponies out on the hill where they belong!
@@KrisHughes absolutely, even saw one with a brilliant white coat!
I found this to be very inspiring, thank you!
Hey Morgan! That's good to hear. Hope you're doing well.
Interesting discussion.
I seriously broke my arm at age ten when tripping whilst pretending to be a showjumping horse carrying my sister on my back whilst jumping in the garden.... feels strangely mythically reminiscent...
Wonderful video!
Thank you!
I totally agree with your message
great breakdown and insight! You mentioned restoring sovereignty to the ecosystem and the world at the end. I would say that we should instead restore our sovereignty over our own homelands. Homelands that have been polluted by a religion that is inimical to a polytheistic people. And if we restore Celtic leadership to Celtic lands, and a Polytheistic religion to the people of those lands - thereby restoring our Gods and Goddesses to their proper place among their people - I do believe it would go a long way to restoring the natural flow and respect between us and the ecosystem which under those conditions should find it's proper rhythm once again.
The ecosystem is a much higher priority than what religion people practice. I knew ecocide and overpopulation was wrong long before I was a polytheist.
Thanks for replying - I completely agree we don't need religion to understand basic morality.
Although I prefer a morality derived from Irish Polytheism over the monotheistic god and his never ending war on nature.
these religions are not the same.
As for overpopulation - I will not address that here in the comment section except to say I disagree with this widely accepted talking point myself.
For the sake of clarity - My comment above wasn't in relation to understanding of right and wrong, but simply suggesting that the solution to a problem concerning the state of our lands, and it's natural inhabitants might best be found in the principles of a nature based religion like our own.
Your knowledge on polytheism is incredible, and I appreciate you sharing it with us. and for the time you take replying to everyone!
I agree.
You may be interested in looking into the concept of "Wind Horse" in Tibetan Bon Shamanism. An older tradition that merged with Buddhism in the area. Cool channel, I can see you are invested, I subbed.
I am just checking out this one and seen that you are here too. Wind-horse! 😄
Thank you. I have explored the Mongolian 'wind horse' concept a bit, but I tend to stick to Celtic things - prefer to specialise. Thanks for you nice comment!
Could you share a link to a couple of the fairy bride story where the horse is present at the time when the husband breaks his taboo?
There are a number in Elias Owen's collection (one of the best books of Welsh Folklore). pp 8-16, then again pp 20-23. Many of these occur is similar forms in other collections. archive.org/details/cu31924029911520/page/n25/mode/2up?view=theater
@@KrisHughes Thanks! As always, you are a rock star.
What use are They? Pretty useful if you want to get around and work the land! Not to mention the various other things not necessarily related to horses but still useful that They do like fertility and guiding the souls of the dead
My point being - without making the title too long - what use are horse goddesses, today, when we mostly don't use horses for practical day-to-day tasks. Not sure whether you watched the video, but I don't say that they are pointless!
