A couple weeks later, we're fighting a boss: a skeletal dragon. It's biting me. The rogue throws the artifact *at the dragon's face*. The face that's currently biting me. It explodes, killing the dragon, and killing my character, with no chance for revival. My flesh vaporized and skeleton fused. THe rest of the party received minimal damage. They fucked around, and I found out. I'm still fucking salty about it. I sound like Astarion when I talk about it.
He is such a delight to bully, and to let bully you. One must walk a fine line between letting him outright kill you or you annoying him so much so that he leaves.
He said he hates me then left 😢 And that was after I helped him defeat Cazador! What an ungrateful person 😠 I hope he appears again before the game ends
I love that they give us the choice of some really nasty comments most of time. I feel bad just reading them and knowing I could say them sometimes. Love it
I don’t have the heart to say anything mean. He’s still trying to heal from all his trauma. Being hurt by the one person he thinks won’t hurt him would undo all the hard work he’s made to be better. He trusts Tav more than anyone else , it would be really cruel to betray that trust and say mean things just because.
I could never say these things especially to our companions. But it does leave the impression that an evil playthrough would be absolutely mental and I love that.

You know, I can't help but think the full, concentrated power of the sun would hurt even the living, A LOT. I can't imagine how it would feel for creatures with hypersensitivity to sunlight.
Hell, unless you are flat out immune to radiant AND fire damage (I think the concentrated power of the sun would be both), not even resistance to both would prevent it from not hurting like the nine hells.
You can very easily imagine Astarion's player losing his shit like this at the table and getting his entire group blacklisted from their board game cafe.
I'm curious, do the other companions have lines for if you leave them, or do we literally all just abandon Astarion for some reason?! Because I 100% did. lol
I kinda wish I had gotten this dialogue. In my game, Astarion straight up killed me in the bite scene, so it would have been cool to get a "Now we're even" option or something.
God its the VA that honestly sells Asterion as a character. Guy is either trying to get his suave on or having a panic attack because things just keep getting weirder and weirder.
I did the lance puzzle right in my first playthrough, I had no idea you could get special dialogue for doing it wrong. I just wish there was a dialogue option for now being even for killing you at the beginning. Now I’m tempted to do it wrong intentionally just for this dialogue, Neil Newbon is a legend 😂
@@Aredel It’s in the temple where the Githyanki crèche is in the mountain pass. You can get to the weapon without doing any of the prerequisites, but doing so will activate the failsafe which leads to the video shown here.
I almost tried to just grab the weapon, but my Archfey Warlock patron chimed in and basically went "dude, I like messing with the gods as much as most, but this is a really bad idea" and that made me reconsider. I then found the puzzle and solved it.
The way he gets mad at you, but if you make sure everything goes smoothly he's disappointing there was no blast. I'm almost disappointed I got it right. Would've love to see this cutscene

Neil Newbon is no stranger to mocap. He plays a couple of parts in Detroit: Become Human, which is also notorious for its stellar mocap.
