I mean, itsn't the goverment's job to collect the GST not the business job? Or is it just an account to record how much GST where paid to the goverment? I dont understand I am new to the field. Thanks
Rod great question - but it would depend on your business model, and your taxation set-up. This is something a MYOB Consultant could check. Work through everything that would lead to the BAS creation and then the end of year financial reports. This would be checking the chart of accounts, and the linked tax codes, and how the BAS is set up, check the linked accounts and then check the company data auditor. But a consultant could help here.

Collecting and remitting GST is the role of the businesses.
