should the tailpiece be 1/6 of the length from the nut to the bridge? So, if the length from nut to bridge is 32.8 mm and we divide by 6 it would be 5.4666mm distance from the bridge to the tailpiece?
I have been eye-balling a harp style tail piece and I am currious if the type of wood changes the sound dramatically? that being said I am also currious if the same is true with the pegs and the end button?
So would you say after length (string length between bridge and tailpiece saddle) is of no concern? I never saw your approach and placing the end of tailpiece against the body saddle. Seems like it would be effective for sound transfer. Thanks!
It is definitely of concern. We always bring the tailpiece as far back as we can. Also, there are different length tailpieces available. Very few places mention the tailpiece length at all. It makes a difference in tone :)
Nice addition having the music playing in the background, really made this informative video pleasant.
What about straightening the bridge again? How would one approach that? Or is it just easier to take this to a professional luthier?

How do you prevent the soundpost from accidentally falling when the strings are off and the violin is being moved around?
wajang1000 well the sound post won't fall if it is fitted correctly, it can fall if bumped or etc but usually it won't fall. just be careful. :)
I accidentally got some rubbing alcohol on my violin when I was cleaning the bow. How can I fix this??
You can't really fix the varnish, without applying new varnish. It's not easy...
