The boss is seriously at fault here. Not only for not having background checks but also for brushing off such blatant sexual harassment as mildly annoying gestures! And of a minor no less. I honestly believe that she just didn't want to be bothered with the whole process and being made to give an extra damn about her employees. And likely to avoid a scandal that would make all the female employees quit for being in such a dangerous environment. She could probably get her business license revoked for not having background checks too. I'll bet if her own child was in a situation like this she'd get her act together. If I had to guess it was an employee and not the boss who reported this creep to the police.
Yeah this is why jobs should always have background checks so that you can decrease the the number of times this happens even if it is only slightly..

The scariest thing is just about every girl and woman I know have had at least 1 peer or acquaintance that has been this inappropriate. Most have had multiple encounters like this. It's not ok to treat anyone like you are entitled to them.
There was a fukin creep sniffing me in the grocery store standing as close to me as he could in the line up. I'm 16! This world man... Next time I'm definitely saying something, I was too busy thinking up excuses as to why he was doing that. The creep was muttering things in a different language by my ear, and the only thing he bought was a package of salami or something. Strangest encounter I've ever had with a stranger so far, and my sister said he was stairing at me the whole time I was in the lineup, thank god she was there, I definately couldn't stand up to someone like that, I've never had to before. Next time I will use a deep voice and pretend I'm a guy.

Yeah I experienced it too, and that was during our OJT (On the Job Training). It was me and two girls, the prettiest girl turned him down immediately but I tried to be nice that's why he must have felt atrracted to me
the most traumatizing part was when I was alone sweeping and I could feel him looking around to see someone else there, I immediately went back inside

Very similar thing happened to me at my local grocery store. Much older man in his 50s+ kept telling me “You should have a boyfriend” or “who is your boyfriend” and kept trying to friendly touch me. But I was just trying to grocery shop... he knew what I always get too. Would buy me brownies knowing I would buy them for myself... I never took them.
I did not work at the grocery store but I went there often as I’d grocery shop on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. He constantly asked about my life and followed me down every isle. While he was restocking he would also take his huge cart and block exit of the isle so that I would be trapped in the same isle as him, I had to back up all the way down the long isles to escape him. I always had anxiety coming to the grocery hoping he would not see me. The next grocery store was 40 minutes away while this one was 10 minutes away so it wasn’t worth me wasting that time.
But I moved finally because I hated that grocery store because of the harassment... ughhhhh...

This is very creepy and unfortunately, I relate to this very much. The only difference is my stalker was a woman. I will never forget how terrified and uncomfortable I was whenever she's near.
When I was working at a local doughnut shop I had a creepy co worker, he was in his mid 40's no lover and no kids I was 17 and he seemed nice, I was polite to him but he kept on asking about my personal life I only told him small things like music, art, hobbies and turns out he liked art and asked for me to go with him to an art museum I told him I can't she said why? I told I'm going to out with family and he said oh okay so I went with my parents to olive garden and ironicly I saw him sitting a table away he notice me and approaches me and my parents and he said I'm a good girl and how she wish he had someone like me, at work he kept asking me to go out and have a drink I said no than he kept getting annoyed and being more persistent I told him no and I was getting angry than one day I was at the gym and he was there waiting for me he said wow you work out here ( I never seen him before) he said let's work out together I ignored him and when I took off my jacket and he saw my muscles he said damn your pretty strong I lifted 300 pounds and he said shit your really strong I notice he was getting alittle scared and slowly backing away from me so I kept lifting weights and next day at work he said I'm nice but I'm intimidating I said okay and he ended up quitting the last thing he told the boss is that the red headed Russian women ( me) will always be my favorite girl I found it creepy so I used my muscles to my advantage I wear tank tops that showed my arm muscles and I never had a problem again lol

The manager was female and refused to do anything when told so she only had to tell Dave that the manager told her that she liked Dave and that the manager threatened her that she would be fired if she went out with Dave.
Dave then would either hit on the female manager or get pissed at her and be fired for it.
The manager is to blame for hiring him and doing nothing so it's putting the two people causing problems against each other.

You know Dave, he’s a real scamp.
I never had this happen, but one of the workers that I dealt with got weird with me having a panic attack once. This situation only happened once during the time I was there. The worker got obsessed with the panic attack and asked me about it and verbally harassed me about it, until the last couple of weeks of my job. I quit after a few weeks after that. That guy did some illegal things. I looked up my rights (I have high anxiety -- This caused the panic attack, and I also have depression), and the law says that he had no right to do that to me, in other words, what he did was illegal (there are laws that protect people with anxiety, depression, or anything else like that). That happened right at the end of my time working there. The guy was a jerk (he was also a Boomer). He had multiple red flags. I was never alone with him. He was one of the first people to leave during my shift. All those nights without him were so nice. The customers were very nice. It was just that one worker, who was a jerk. If I go to that place, I always make sure to wear something different and wear a hoodie that he has never seen. I could sue him, but I don't really want to go through the trouble, and I don't want to see him. I just want to stay away from him.
