- Today we have a few more items to plant. We just can't seem to stop planting! We needed to replace an apple tree that didn't make it through from last year and we added some Rhubarb. more marigolds, and partially lined the driveway with hydrangea bushes.
I also did some extra research on our Pomegranate trees and pruning. Pomegranate trees are pruned in the winter. You can however get the little sucker limbs throughout the growth season but save the major cuts for when it is dormant. We haven't done anything with them due to not knowing if they would even make it in our part of the country but hey! We have a fruit!

Pretty sure that's a grub worm. They grow up to be Japanese beetles. Both are destructive if you have very many. We see lots of those in Texas. Love watching y'all! The farm is so beautiful!
Enjoyed the video of planting flowers and fruit trees 🌳! Know this is a older one so praying that they are doing well!! God bless y’all 🙏. Continuing prayers for Dawn ❤️
You can dry out some of the green beans you harvest to plant the next year. Same goes for any other seeds from plants. I’m learning how to myself. ❤
My parents were gardeners and they canned just like you. I miss them so much and all the stuff and work I hated back then I would give anything to do it again.
You should look up Army Worm....says it's in Arkansas and destroys crops. Couldn't see it closely, but you may want to look it up. Blessings for the Hansen Family. Thanks for sharing.♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️👋
Army worms look like earth worms and I'm told they are north of us at the moment. Sure hope the stay away from our rocky neck of the state.
Fruit trees are wonderful, especially when they are Peaches! 😄 💚 from Texas
The chickens love those worms
Lovely. I love your new drive. 💕
All your missing in the garden is a white stone angel and some fairy lights 👍❤️
I had a huge rhubarb in my garden. It is delicious made the Danish way with sugar and vanilla, with strawberries, We make it into like a porridge, with potato starch. Then we bottle it and eat it with whipped cream and almonds, or just milk. Makes great pie. I thought my garden had a lot of stones! Yours beats mine! 😂
Can't wait to see what all you have planted.
Right now God is blessing us with a new grandson. My husband will be able to see his last grandchild. My daughter is a little early at 35 weeks, they might try to slow it down with IV drip but right now she is in active labor.
That is awesome!
@@cabinonthehillhomestead5301 oh and the fruit trees and Peaches are awesome!!
Plant those marigolds around your rose bushes and you won't have any aphids. And the Homestead looks so beautiful I wish I could come visit and just walk around and look. Great job guys!
Thanks for the tips!
Fruit trees and ant hills.❤
Love rhubarb make a good pie or cobbler even rhubarb cake that was my dad's favorite love watching you guys you have so many good videos God bless you all
Robert, that hole digging is for young men, lol. It will look lovely once they grow and fill out.💙💜I hope those aren't fire ants.
When I was younger spending a weekend with my Great Aunt Edna gave me strawberry/rhubarb jelly on my toast.
yum!
I like the driveway flowers too, I need to get me one of them❤️best colour
I like the path with the wood that would be so cool. That way you don't step in mud a step on the wood
Beautiful layout! I didn't know that about marigolds and tomatoes! I'll have to let me mom know. I love deadheading plants!
It's a beautiful addition to a veggie garden.
That's gonna be sooo beautiful ❤️
It is looking fantastic!! Can't wait to see what ya'all do next!! Blessings!!🙏🥰👍💯
Thank you! 🤗

Robert and Dawn, everything looks so great!!! Love the fruit trees aka peaches 🍑 lol

Looking fabulous! Have you ever considered making a pallet walk way? And you secure them with garden spikes. Just a thought. Boil some big pots of water and pour it oven the ant kills them good! God bless you both.👨🌾👩🌾💚🙏
That's a great idea!
❤️fruit trees and peaches 🍑 😀
Cherry trees do that, then come back blossom and make lots of mess😂👍
Great job love this video
I've been watching quite a few of y'alls videos and I just love the beauty of the land to where I am starting to miss Arkansas although I believe you're in Oklahoma but it's similar. I now live on the outskirts of Metro Phoenix on a small reserve and the only green I see is in the winter time. I miss the green grass ,huge trees well I miss that areas natural nature.. I'm a southern girl (Mississippi) by heart yet my tribal culture is in Arizona. Anyway your videos just takes me back ❤ thanks for sharing & although I went back a year on vids I recently started following this channel and I am glad I did 🥰 again thank you 🙏 love and light
😊🎉❤ chickens love grubs
Man Robert you are a machine. Everything looks beautiful and I would prefer your view over a curbside any day. Thanks for the tour of the fruit trees I sure do hope you get some peaches. God bless. Ps hope Dawn's arm heals quick.
Thanks 👍
Word of the day apple blossom
love that!
So is the secret word “peaches” or “apple trees”. Thinking your driveway will be lovely with the flowers. Guess you’re with Kevin now. Must have been hard to say goodbye, but the Lord always knows what’s best for us.
I love the hydreangas and the fruit trees! But peaches are the best!
I totally agree!
Dawn I hope your arm (whatever bit you) is better! ❤ Please watch out for spider bites. They are very dangerous!
I thank you and it is better. We have crazy Buffalo Nats and they get me every time.
@@cabinonthehillhomestead5301 I've never heard of those! 😳 Mosquitoe bites infect me! I bought one of those electric tennis rackets to use when I'm outsides...helps but they still get me 😖
Peaches yummmmmmm
In South Africa we always put water in the hole before putting the plant in the hole it helps with the shock of replanting.
We do the same when it is dry. We have had so much rain we have flood warnings right now.
Rhubarb crisp and rhubarb cake is really good also.
That sounds delicious
if they are squares...can be multipurpose...walk blocks and raised garden sides
That grub is a bardi grub some people eat them 🐛
👍🏻🙏❤️🕊🇦🇺
❤️❤️❤️❤️
You should check in the 7 Dust
You can eat the marigold flowers too
FRUIT TREES
😃 PEACHES.
Looking good guys. You probably already know this but just watch the animals around the rhubarb, the leaves are highly poisenous to animals and humans, not edible at all, extremely toxic. Obviously as you know the stalks are edible. We used to dip it in sugar to eat it raw but its great stewed with a bit of sugar and bourbon in pie.
I'm hoping our animals never get out but goats are escape artists.
🤗 Fruit trees 🌳 Peaches 🍑 😋
Love it!!
Everything is looking so good. To have fruit on the trees so soon means you're doing something right. That will be one wonderfully orchard. 🍓🍎🍑(peaches)🍅🥕🥒🫑🥬🍉🫐🥕🧅
I hope so!
Keep the flowers when they die off and let them dry and you don't have to buy them next year you already have seeds
You can make a natural insecticide from the leaves of the rubarb
Great to know! Now to find the recipe because neem oils arent working this year.
Do you got the kind that don’t stain your clothes my grandpa had those get it ended up squirting at you when you bite into it you can just wash it off comes right out or is the one that leaves you stains in your clothes that’s not good, so which one do you have?
he might be the kind of bug u want
He's the kind of bug the chickens want and our tomatoes don't. LOL he was saved from the chickens.
Is that the kind of pomegranates that don't stay in your clothes
Fruit trees lol

I'm good. I just got winded and we had sweet iced tea for a rescue. Thank you for your thought full words though.
