Man you guys know it don’t get no better than that! Awesome hunts. I believe Dave is as good in the big mountain woods as anybody around. Makes it rough on those poor ridge runnin Toms. I have picked up much from your subtle call game. I believe your soft calls are as realistic as I’ve ever heard. Still working on that little soft Keekee cluck you do that gets them almost every time. Have a blessed and safe 2024 season Dave! Get sweetie pie in the frame soon so maybe she’ll let you keep doing this marathon every year brother!
Great hunt! First one great example of typical mountain hunting. Set ups in the hills are always a double edge sword.
Your buddy sure wasn’t kidding about northern OH. For a turkey hunter it sure ain’t fun.
I hunt this steep hill terrain almost exclusively and I absolutely love it! Such a challenge to get them to the top and you usually only get a short time to shoot. “They” would say they never come across those big ravines but it’s happened more than once! Great hunt. 👍👍

Kinda sounds like a hen turkey is trying to imitate a cardinal or something. Everytime I hear you do it, I start drumming and I'm not even a turkey lol

I noticed the last couple years here in Kentucky the turkeys have gone real quiet around my spot and don’t gobble or call often cause the coyotes are hunting them so hard, I called in two coyotes today while scouting for turkey with a few soft yelps

That first hunt is the kind that I look forward to in the mountains of north central PA. Big steep hollows, unpredictable mountain birds with thunderous gobbles, and fewer people to contend with.

I’m trying to get better at judging distances in the woods without a range finder. Roughly how far was that shot Dave?
From memory the gobbler in the mtns was 30/35 and Walts gobbler was about the same.

What difference does it make? It’s a turkey hunt you’ve never seen before. These comments don’t make sense to me.
Regardless, there will be 2024 this week hitting the channel. But I’m a one man band- I hunt them, video them, then edit them. I don’t have a production team. So you get them when I can get them to ya.
