Ohhh yees, i remember tuesday and wednesday, morning before Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais and PSG (here in france) champions league match at school, we was so excited, talkin all day about the champions league evening ... Same feeling ^^
Juventus from 1995 were overall the most powerful team in Europe up to April 1999 when they lost in the European cup semi final to Man Utd. They never really recovered from that until the got to the final again in 2003.
cause Del Piero, the best player in the world in the 90' with Ronaldo, has a terrible injury in 98 that costed him 2 years of inactivity, and the loss of his exsplosive muscle power..he played the rest of his carreer pratically with one knee, he wan not anymore the best in the worl, but still a truly technical champion and star player.
When i was a child, before even being a JUVE fan, i was always wondering how come the respected fans of Man United & Real Madrid talk of respect when it comes to JUVENTUS.. I keep watching the video in which all of the fans of both the teams, Man U fans in Old Trafford, and Madrid fans in Santiago Bernabeu, both stand up to salute Alessandro Del Pierro and JUVE performance, in spite of losing both of them the match against JUVE.
the glory years of football. you can see it in the five minutes of the match, both teams playing with pace and creativity. you dont see that anymore. i am a die hard juventini and im happy to see the creative spark back in torino, but nothing like the ADP/zidane/deschamps era. watching this football makes me proud to be bianconeri though FINO ALLA FINE FORZA JUVENTUS
OHHH young DELPIERO and GIGGS!! Look at them how fresh and young they were.. look how they fought and their pace was..! The looks and style!! Until TODAY both of them are playing for their same team!! all RESPECT for these two LEGENDS!! This is true football LOVE and LOYALTY! especially Alex Delpiero stayed when Juve were relegated!!!!
what a Battle... Manchester United and Juventus at their best... I really miss those times, those players, those coaches, those... yeah, battles... Fighters like Montero, Keane, Ferrara, Schmeichel, Conte... World Class players like Cantona, Zidane, Beckham, Del Piero, Giggs...
Juve were a great side back then, we had some legendary European battles against them. We learned a lot in 96/97 against Juve and brought that experience to the table as a much better side in 98/99, who can forget that legendary night in Turin in the semi final 2nd leg!
this was at the time when Juventus were awesome, their latest Champions League-trophy came in 1996 and untill 2009 they were the last reigning champions of Champions League to reach the final
thanks for putting this up man, in my opinion one of the great european games at old trafford, a great juventus team against an emerging united team, shame they didn't play in the final that season.
im a man utd fan....but out of all the players form italy i wud have loved to have in a red shirt wud be del peiro...with baggio in a close 2nd......del piero is just a perfect player
+Meersad There seemed to be more passion on and off the field back then. Premier League clubs lack local players nowadays and it shows in their lack of passion compared to that Utd squad.
Also, Conte is the coach Juve should have hired five years ago, he wants his players to work hard and fight fight for Juventus on the pitch. Del Neri, Ferrara and Ranieri were good tacticians but what Juve really needed was someone to show the players what it meant to play for Juventus, because the young players didn't know and the old players had forgotten. They needed to rediscover their pride.
Ac milan was amazing until 1995 then came Juventus they went in champions league finals 3 times in a row first team do that in long time , milan was born early 2000's winning 2003 and 2007 champions league and losing 2005 against liverpool
the champions league isnt as good as it was a few years back when it wasnt just United and Barca but Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus etc were all contenders as well!
That particular game you are talking about occurred in the 1997-98 season when Manchester United and Juventus locked horns in the Group Stage Matches. This particular clip was from the 1996-97 Group Stage Matches when Juventus won both the games 1-0
Don't put Beckham in the same class as Zidane, Del Piero, Cantona or Giggs. Beckham was the first modern day 'poster boy' created by the media, more image/marketing than real substance. He's one of the reasons we're stuck with these two media creations that are Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus still generates decent revenue, keep in mind that they haven't played in the CL for two seasons and they didn't own their own stadium (like all the other Italian teams) until this year. The problem has been crappy management after being relegated. The guys that came in were great when it came to the bussiness side of running the club, however they were naive with the footballing side of it.
@miliziametallica Alessandro Del Piero: " Money is not everything. My ambition was football itself, not the money I'd make from it. If that brings me and my family a more comfortable lifestyle, then that's fine. But I don't spend my time between games and training sessions thinking about figures."
Forza juve! Were going to the champions league this year and were gonna get a good player in the summer. I've heard some really good players that juve are interested in like fernando torres, luis suarez, salomon kalou, edin dzeko, van persie and some other guy i forget. But whoever we get were gonna go undefeated into the finals :P.
That Juventus team were the best in Europe. Those were the days. I remember those matches fondly, excited all day at school to watch them that night.
Ohhh yees, i remember tuesday and wednesday, morning before Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais and PSG (here in france) champions league match at school, we was so excited, talkin all day about the champions league evening ... Same feeling ^^
100%. And the European Match live with Brian Moore on commentary was just awesome.
i miss their rivalry, Juventus vs MU, Lippi vs Fergie..those are great memories. Both were great. Forza Juve

Loved watching United in the 90s in the CL. Rooted for them being the English club. Played so hard. Such thrilling matches.
the time when juve meant more than real and barcelona together

Best commentator ever. RIP Brian.
Zidane, Del Piero e Giggs, 3 holy football legends in a match!

That tempo is unreal
During this 90s I enjoyed the Champions league way more, don't know why
wow i remember this match makesme feel old fond memories this champions league rivalry was like chelsea vs barcelona
Man Utd/Juventus rivalry in football was like Ferrari/McLaren riavlry in Formula 1 in terms of nationality and colour scheme.
This is football !!! united....juventus....YEAHH!!! i'm italien!!!
No better commentator than Brian Moore. Awesome voice.
FORZA JUVE AND GGMU!! two teams that respect each other...
Fantastic Teams, legends
2 grandi squadre. Che bei tempi!
Zidane, Del Piero, Cantona, Beckham, Giggs...so much talent, so much legends. Today we have Cr7 and Messi...boring.
I really don't know how we(Juventus)got from here to what we are today....I miss this days.....Forza Juve!
Juve had Zidane, one of the best players of all-time.
@NanoBode - Saw yesterday that you were top of the league! Keep it up and safe the CL spot for next season.
god I miss this United so much
Juventus is coming back !!! Respect to Man UTd
Was reading RED. Ahhh brings back memories
This was a really strong Man united team.
+Kevin Sinclair No, its really strong Juve team although they lost in the final. What a footy those days though..today its all pussy football.
+Meersad There seemed to be more passion on and off the field back then. Premier League clubs lack local players nowadays and it shows in their lack of passion compared to that Utd squad.
wow both teams are unrecognisable! the speed in which they play is much better than the modern juve and modern man u...
Amazing Juve side. This was an incredible match to be at.
great match. full of end to end action

@RanpatMcMurphy Love the fact Giggs and Scholes are still playing!

When the UEFA Champions League was good!
Great match that was, Forza Juve 4 life , great fighting spirit , Brilliant footballers from both clubs love old school football
three finals in a row, only one victory sadly. deschamps and zidane in midfield, not many better
They dont make the champions league like this anymore
juventus were so tough to beat the late 90s, hard to get past their defence and were dangerous in the offense
@FootballonDVD 3 pounds?! MAN THIS IS A CLASSIC, keep it for another 10 years and it'll be priceless
10 years later. And.... No
@@TheRaveMusicArchive LMAO what the hell man, you're bringing up my past more than my wife

2:59 that's just amazing how Cantona controlled the ball and passed it...
the champions league isnt as good as it was a few years back when it wasnt just United and Barca but Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus etc were all contenders as well!

The Match of second part of years '90!! Forza Juve!!
I was at this game. If I recall correctly Juventus edged it 1-0 in a Del Piero penalty given away by Nicky Butt?
RIP Brian Moore

this was a gr8 game, shame about the result here. cantona played well i seem to remember but Juve were Top Notch back then.
Ajax Amsterdam should have won that cup i cried for about two days after that final
where can i watch the whole match? please help!

barca were considered the best team in world in early 90s.
But AC Milan was still the dominate team in the 90's winning 2 Champions League finals and Runners-up on 2 finals.
@PrimoDragonNewBirth honour for manchester.....big like as!!
THIS IS FOOTBALL
f*** yeah....what a team....
WOWW !! BECKHAM WEARING NO 10
Don't forget Boksic and Keane
Who is the lead commentator?I really like him.
Alen Boksic! If he went to the world cup 98 with croatia they would beat france and brazil for sure!

barcelona also in early 90s, 2 finals and 1 win
Barcelona won in 1992, beating Sampdoria 1-0, but were then thrashed 4-0 by AC Milan 4-0 in 1994
@RanpatMcMurphy You forgot Phil Neville :)
