However there is always enough police resources available for them to sit on the side of the road in a BMW and wait for 'crimes' that are easy to catch. Just a co-incidence. Move along.
Canberra CBD has 40 kph speed limit & red light & speed cameras, so if you are just reaching an intersection doing the speed limit & the lights change, you barely have enough time to get through before the red. They are big intersections. Your choices are do the speed limit & take the chance on the red light camera or go a little over the limit (like 43) to beat the red light but risk the speed camera.
If this scheme wasn't so obviously slated against the people I would applaud the ingenuity... but instead it's blatantly obvious, and the beneficiaries of the (obvious) scam are praying our collective ignorance lasts longer than their own existence...
