This stuff is so overwhelming to me haha it reminds me of when I get a new tv and spend hours getting the picture settings just right (because I’m mental like that). Then I’m constantly second guessing myself, so I go back and change stuff again. Rinse and repeat. This takes a special person and that person is not me. Lol
Hey Guys! Random potentially stupid question here, so you these guys are still rocking Protools 10, does that mean they're using an older version of the Mac OS? As far as I know 10 is not compatible with newer OS versions. If so, do they run into any potential problems not being able to update certain things or have they found a route around this potential problem?
agree - a lot of producers/engineers who mix metal genre drums always leave below 50k flat, when you listen to their mixes on any good system, that has sub bass - their errors show instantly. I always make a point to add some sub for in case you song is played on a nice stereo, you don't want it totally flat, you want some thump!
What's your best drum mixing tip??
Process the drums with the whole track playing. ;)
adding an 808 kick very well balanced to fattened the bass drum.

We’ve all been there lol- keep at it!!
Great drums, Matt is a beast.
Can you please feature some drum mixes where samples have not been used?
See Andrew Scheps tutorial
What kick sample did he use

Really don't like how clicky and flat that kick sounds, but the cymbals are huge
