this was actually a really cool video when the toms started getting pitch shifted i actually remembered all the classic music that used that style of effect.
Question? I see the studioRack is free and the CHAINS are free...but I'm figuring you have to have each one of these individual plugins to make these Particular chains work correct?or is there some kind of"locked in to these chains only" use to try them out? thanx in advance for anyone who answers this...
Hi Acme Brand, StudioRack and its built-in presets are available for FREE. However, in order to load your Waves plugins in StudioRack, they need to be either purchased or demoed. Our plugins are being offered for great prices on our website and you're more than welcome to try them out by registering a 7 days fully functional demo to your account.
It works on both Windows and Mac operating systems 🙂 For more information, we recommend checking out our System Requirements page: www.waves.com/support/tech-specs/system-requirements
The tutorial have some interesting things and it's cool But, does not have a 80s look at all 1- Drums feels lifeless 2- reverbs are not too bright, so doesn't sound 80s at all 3- The gated effect is too harsh and sounding too digital you should've used some tricks to give it a less quantized feel Plus - there are missing harmonics in EQ Anyway, it's a nice job, just doesn't sound really 80s
@@davidwaves6190 Thank you for the attention! For drums, I never do the same thing but generally is: 1- Adjusting the samples slightly off the grid. It gives a nice organic feel to it. 2- Not compressing too much. Generally slow attack, fast realease. 3- Adjust the "gated effect" on the reverb itself by controling the decay knob, will give it a nice and smooth gated reverb effect 4- Add a little bit of saturation to give a warm mid/treble harmonics And, of course, adjusting everything in a way that sounds good to your ears Thank you so much for accepting the advice! Great channel
Definitely one of Waves' best tutorials.
Appreciate your comment Charles thanks!
Nicee!!! Brandon has a very cool tone! Crazy skills! Very nice! Glad to see he got his own pickup!
Cool Tutorial. The H-Delay is one of the best Delay Plugins out there! I use it on every track
Thanks Stephan

This was very helpful. Thank you!
Cool. Would love one of these for live drums, as well!
Great Scott! Go back and throw this chain on your live drums and BOOM...it's Phil Collins in a flash Marty!

Excellent, thank you.
Thanks Allan!
Legendary
Great tutorial! 🔥
In order to hear the Torque influence, it would be better to compare the unprocessed toms with processed toms without a reverb.
You can hear the toms bypassed in the before & afters. Check out the chain for yourself: waves.com/80s-drums

⚠Not just for fake drums⚠...It'll work on real/acoustic/live drums too, try it out!

You were better before Seed of Chucky&Bride of Chucky
