For the first time I like the sad ending and I love how he cries for her. He deserves it because how much pain she suffered from him...
This is the best possible ending. People are too immersed in happy endings but in this drama she bears too much pain and deserves to be free.
Unpopular opinion but for me this was the best ending. Love can be spoilt by pride and greed. She was made to suffer and bear too much guilt for loving him, he did it all for what? I think she deserves to be free at last.

我特别喜欢这部剧但是从来没有想到结局竟那么虐其实这部戏我从去年就看了的但是又觉得特别好看又过来看了一遍而且又哭了一次这个男主又渣杀了女主的母族部落,利用的女主,这个女主原谅得了别人，但是唯独原谅不了自己
從一開始就註定是悲劇，女主非死不可啊～
雖然結局很悲，但卻很真實，男主殺了女主的家人女主身邊所有親人，如果結局還是男主女主快快樂樂在一起，那不是很奇怪？所以這個結局做的很好，只不過希望他們在拍小楓和顧小五的下一輩子，下一輩子再來個happy ending吧...

The first the sad ending that I actually except. Because even if he lost his memory he was still a vile person. All she did was suffer while with him physically, mentally, emotionally.

I think this is the best ending he had done so much to her. As a woman I dont know how she manage to live with him. I mean love is really powerful the hate, the angrier and the pain everything is there all in one. After what he had done to her I find this peaceful she let go of him and go to be with her love ones. It's really sad you cant be angry at either of the main characters really but for some reason I really hate the male lead and still love him. But his greed piss me off so much and the point I still can't get is why he couldnt let her go let her be happy couldnt he see that she wasnt happy it was killing her more that she was alive and her family was basically all killed because of him. After recovering his memories he still dont see to care and still wanted her after what he did. This series is so powerful I think it was a justified ending for him also to let him live with knowing what he has done. Let him see what she had to live it while he didnt remember anything.

in the novel he regretted everything, every night he would cry and his life is like a puppet,. her being dead is like an eye opener of him to be a good leader he then passed his throne and then he went back where he meet xiao feng and wanders in the dessert, thinking/hoping that he would be able to meet her there. he loved her but he also used her out of his greediness for power.

其实男主本就应该要有心理准备，从他利用女主的那一刻，他就知道这一切还是会来本想躲避好好的去过一生，但是没想到小枫恨他，但是却杀不了他 ，小枫的执念，最终也没有驯服他去杀了顾小五 他特别恨自己为什么那么没用，她唯独可以原谅别人，但是却原谅不了自己

maybe most of you hate Le Chenyin because you didnt not understand why he did it. He took revenge when the Danchis wiped out his entire family years ago, he lost all his family too. He saw the Danchis loot goods from the Central Plains and even captured his people and saw how they are being mistreated as slaves even Xiaofeng objects what the Danchis did. It was too much for Le Cheyin when his beloved brother Crown Prince was assasinated by the Danchis right before his eyes. Yes its wrong he killed her grandfather but same as heartbreaking and tragic for him just like for Xiaofeng.
both did what they need to do for their own people, they are born as enemies, just too sad they both fall in love with each others at the wrong time wrong place. I cried each episode I barely can watch her face as a woman, I know how she felt, its like thousand needles piercing your heart, and as heavy as 100kgs of rock pulling down your heart.
Somebody finally got it. He never wanted to be crowned Prince all the older people used him,his big brother,stepmom,uncle teacher too. He always protected her even more after loosing their memories
I think you might have misunderstood some points here. Danchi did not wiped out Li Chengyin's family. The Gu family (Li Chengyin's biological mother's family) was framed by Minister Gao (Gao Yuming) and was massacred by the Emperor's command. His mother (Gu Yuyao or Consort Shu) was also poisoned to death by the Empress. After Li Chengyin learned the truth from his aunt, Princess Mingyuan (consort of Xiaofeng’s father), when he went to Xizhou to propose political marriage to the Ninth Princess of Western Liang (Xiaofeng) for the Crown Prince of Li Dynasty, so he wanted to take revenge on the Gao family and the Empress and the only way to achieve his goal was to be the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince (Li Chengji) was not killed by Danchi, but was assassinated by the 2nd prince (Li Chengye), because he wanted to take the crown prince position. Then Li Chengye framed Batu'er, the man from Danchi, for killing the Crown Prince. Batu'er was later killed by Li Yan, Li Chengye's subordinate, on their journey to the Central Plains and replaced by Li Yan’s subordinate to make it seem like Danchi was responsible for the death of the Crown Prince. Of course, Li Chengyin was also misunderstood. The looting was the deal between General Gao (Gao Xian, the 1st son of Gao Yuming) and Danchi (General Gao wanted to make the border unsettled so that he could keep asking for more budget from the Central Plains), which Li Cheng Yin had witnessed with his own eyes. Killing or enslaving the people of the other side happened on both sides, because they were enemies. What a drama!!! The acting, the plot and the splendid war scenes were outstanding. This drama was the best, bar none.

这个结局真的牛。。但又合乎剧情走向。。小枫的家破人亡，顾小五的野心，顾剑的犹豫和后来的欺骗，以及太子的占有欲，都一步步逼死小枫。。如果是我，我也会选择死亡。背负灭国的愧疚和孤独，宁愿选择自杀。这部剧一点都不甜，我看到他们的互动就想到灭族和被欺骗的苦。在最后恢复记忆后的爆发都是自然的。。。太子并不是真的情深，只是失去一个自己得不到的东西时散发出来的遗憾。他的眼里江山永远比至亲挚爱重要。后悔莫及时发出的悲叹看客看来就是悲极生乐。
對。不是說不獨活。
小说番外里他倒是用了整整三十年去痛苦后悔了，最后也是自杀了。（虽然写的很隐晦）

和親的公主跑了，根本就會引起兩國交戰，但顧劍和阿渡卻一直要小楓回西州
如果顧劍和阿渡放了小楓的過去，小楓或許好過些，或許不用死
顧劍才是最自私的人，看他被萬劍穿心，只覺得活該！
