I recently learned that hair with less texture can still be frizzy due to things like high porosity and damage. A good trim and lightweight oils can help
Hey!!! To all commentors wondering why their hair is as frizzy and dry as this girl's and doesn't look straight like the finished result. You have wavy or curly hair! I was the same way (hair was much more worse than the girl in the video when I brushed it out). But guess what? Congrats, you naturally have a hairtype that most girls with pin-straight hair want SO bad Of course if you want to straighten it every now and then, all the power to you! But your hair can't be constantly straight without heat damage or straightening chemicals, so don't worry about it! Edit: forgot to mention that you should look up hair tutorials geared towards curly and wavy hair, they'll get your struggles WAY MORE
@@Stxr_vex i'm so sorry you feel that way, i felt that way too growing up! Especially since nobody taught or told me about haircare for my hair type, I had to learn it on my own. I would look up curly/wavy hair tutorials for beginners, they might explain some things in a more streamlined way. In my personal experience, here's some starter tips to get your hair wavy/curly again! 1. Ditch any shampoo or conditioner that has alcohols, sulfates, or silicones in them-- they are not always great for curlier hair textures. Now, some girls still use products with those ingredients in them, but for now, it's easier to narrow down your options to more brands that are more tailored for your hair type. Once you got the hang of it, you can experiment with different formulas and see what routine works best for you! 2. Get the essentials: these are curl creams, gel/mousse, a wetbrush/detangling brush, and a 100% cotton tshirt/microfiber towel. By all means, you do not need to splurge on these. Drugstore products are perfectly acceptable! 3. What you're going to do on your first hair wash day is shampoo your scalp one last time with a sulfate shampoo to break up any silicone residue. Then, go in with your sulfate-free shampoo on your scalp only, rise, than apply conditioner from your roots of your hair to the ends of your hair. You do not always need to condition your scalp, since it produces natural oils already! Next, grab your brush and start detangling your conditioned hair in sections, working your way from the very bottom of your hair up to your top. This way, you aren't ripping out your hair and are gently teasing the knots out. It should be significantly easier and less painful to detangle when wet, and if there is more resistance than you like, just add more water. Then, rise out your conditioner when you're done. 4. Out of the shower, you're going to want to gently slather your hair in your curl cream, making sure you're distributing the product evenly (I usually use a praying-motion to smooth out the cream over my hair). Then, do the same with gel- what the gel is going to do is create a cast that preserves your current curls without it frizzing back up into poofiness. Wait for your hair to fully dry; the gel might feel crunchy, but you can squeeze it out by "scrunching out the crunch". And tada, you got stylish hair! 5. Start washing your hair only 2-3 times a week. Washing it everyday will strip your hair of natural oils that your hair needs to stay healthy. 6. Keep in mind how damaged your hair is from heat styling. If you barely straightened or used chemicals/dyes on your hair, your hair should be fairly healthy. If you have done those things though, your hair will be starting off quite damaged. Your hair may not look perfect as you grow out the damage, and some people chop off a ton of their hair to get rid of their damage and start fresh. Be patient with yourself and try not to compare yourself too much to people with healthier hair than you! 6. Do not brush your hair when it is dry! This will destroy your curls and create the dreaded frizz. Detangle only when wet, or right before you are going to take a shower (since the frizz is going to be drowned out anyway). 7. Do not dry your hair with a regular cotton towel! The fibers are too large and can create lots of friction in your hair, and therefore create frizz. I hope this helps you! Remember, you are not ugly! 💖
@@Stxr_vex I was the same way, nobody taught me about my curly hair and my family still struggles to understand sometimes to this day, lmaoo In my experience though, convincing your parents may not be as difficult as you think if you come equipped with knowledge and a game plan! Your parents may not understand at first, but you could outright link them a youtube video or two that explains a curly/wavy hair routine and why some steps are essential. They may be more receptive to the idea if your claims are corroborated by other sources. If possible, you could actually go browsing online and make a wishlist of the cheapest hair products you think would work for you. Present them to your family; they could relax more when they realize that what you want all costs under $15 or so. You could also just do some research and point out the hair products you want when shopping with them, they may cave and start slowly buying you stuff.

Since I’m 13 I have to ask my mum to do these things and I’m sure she’s getting tired of me asking her for products and how to change the way I look and complaining about the way I look. There are quite a lot of ideas I have in mind to get my hair to look nicer, like sleeping on a silk cushion, using a microfiber towel, buying one of those revlon heat brushes, but I always ask my mum for things and I feel bad. I’m currently letting it grow back out again after chopping off 12in over a year ago, because it’s thick and the weight of it helps control the frizz, but I know that isn’t the best way to fix this. Can anyone help? (I’m thinking next time I go to the hair salon I’m going to ask about it lol)
