I don’t know about this one guys. As a Latino we’re all my family are immigrants, this is a very hard subject to talk about or understand unless you are put into or sounded by people in this situation. It is very easy as an American to say we accept legal immigrants and trust me all immigrants wish they could come here legally but that’s not the case. I know for my family if my father did not leave when he did, he could of been killed or stripped of everything back in his home country. Coming here illegally is usually there last resort so they do it knowing this is there only opportunity.

Illegal immigrants are probably partly responsible for a large portion of the food you’ve eaten and the buildings you’ve been inside, as well as the labor you’ve benefitted from. It’s a tough situation and there’s not necessarily a right answer but have some sympathy. Many of the countries you say are lacking are in that situation because of the actions of the United States

This is an interesting topic, since my parents came here illegally and are now us citizens, so giving illegal immigrants free shit isn’t okay, most of the Mexicans that I know are pretty hard work and what they earn in this country is fair since they sacrificed working two jobs, time away from their kids and leaving their families behind, most of the immigrants that I know also pay taxes, but they aren’t given the same benefits us citizens can get, because of lack of social security numbers, they can get an ITIN number to finance in certain places, and have bank accounts and stuff, I’d actually be done to do an interview on with y’all about this topic for questions y’all may have, @strawberrypark

Some immigrants that are here illegally still have to pay taxes and buy there own house and work hard for there things, but immigrants that come and get and expect everything open handed is sad because it can’t work like that
It is very rare to see an illegal immigrant go to the us and not put sweat blood and tears into working hard for money to send to their families in their respective native countries but there will always be that one person that believes it’s easy to live in the us with no hard work

i not normally the type to say something in most situations but i do disagree wit yall or more id like to debate your claims. But also think about the people that were already born here with citizenship that are living on the streets? People from thailand or europe ofc are not gonna try and immigrate to the US becausethey physically can’t. Hmm I disagree with some parts. I understand the sentiment that if you want immigrants in the country then you should realistically understand the distribution of resources but accepting them being in the country is not the same as wanting them in your house. If you didn’t want someone (even a citizen) in your house would that then mean you don’t want them in the country? No, that wouldn’t make sense. This is not a fair comparison. Also, willingness to accept someone in your home takes time to plan and figure out, so asking on the spot isn’t an accurate enough assessment for some people.
I think what they’re getting at is these people are saying come on in legally or not, but they aren’t willing to help the immigrants themselves and think it’s fine for everyone else to do so. I believe it’s more of it’s a struggle to take care of people born in our country and that we don’t necessarily have the systems in place to support legal immigrants let alone illegal immigrants.

It's the fact that you're paying for their housing, etc. Americans pay their taxes so they can get public services. Illegal immigrants don't pay taxes and yet they get everything for free (even more than those who came legally). It's not fair.

As an immigrant from Mexico that went to school and graduated and have my own family and my own place I don't really like this video because when my parents brought me over here we were living with my dad's family for free until we got our own place and I have done the same with some of my cousins and they are now working and living on their own all thanks to me and they were so grateful for it that they actually gave me some money when they got their own place.

Hey guys keeping it real here and of course this is my opinion I have been a subscriber of the channel for quite some time now and I got to say I love the videos but this time I think y’all are talking about a subject that y’all don’t know much on, it’s easy to talk about something when you haven’t experienced what a lot of immigrants have had to face just to get to the us and have another opportunity at life with their families. Usually I share you’re all opinions but as the daughter of immigrants I really cannot support the opinion you all are putting out. Just like how back then in history people used to immigrate from the south to the north for a better life/future and to not get killed and tortured that is what most immigrants are doing. Most of the time people HAVE to escape to survive or to give their kids a better life..
I swear people these days just say things to make themselves look like a good person in reality they could care less if someone didn't have a home or no food on the table.
Honestly I disagree, having someone in your personal space is a totally different thing. Would you also say if someone off the bat said no I don’t want illegal immigrants in our country it means they don’t care if people die on the streets? I have mixed opinions on this situation but it goes both ways.

I’m from the UK and we have a huge issue with illegal immigration, I believe they should be allowed in if they are able to work for themselves and afford a home however we should not provide them with free housing and no tax. First video that I think is a miss 💔 legal immigration is extremely difficult. People that come here illegally usually try legal methods but because the US makes it nearly impossible, they have to resort to illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants also pay taxes and work. They don’t get anything handed to them.
People also got to keep in mind Prager U is a heavily funded right wing group that is looking to influence education. So this interview the guy is doing seems like it cherry picks liberal leaning people so they can put put a nice video to own the libs and feel like they are dunking on them.

The system struggles to catch illegals folks but holds up the legals. And from most immigrants, they left everything and have nothing to loose. If they could put some money in there pockets and provide for love ones it’s a win. If they go home it’s worse 🤷🏽♂️. Unless your a dealer they wouldn’t want to “come illegally” and risk loose again. But it all depends.

The real problem with illegal immigration isnt that it happens, its that it isnt stable or slowing down in many places. It used to be mexico, but with their continued economic growth the rates have dropped off. and thats the real question, how do we boost the economies of these countries such that people dont feel like abandoning their lives for the slim shot of actually making it. I, am not an economist, im not an expert on anything. but people dont run away when things are going well. people dont run away when their well invested. so what is it that we, as a country, can do to lower poverty and increase investments into these mostly central american countries?

As much as these people don't understand what they're saying, especially with regard to illegal immigration, I think it speaks more volumes that prageru is the one interviewing them. Considering that, most of the time, they themselves don't know what they want with regard to illegal immigration and other laws that they obviously bungle when they talk about them.

One option brought up was to issue vouchers to hotels, use schools during the summer, and offered to have people who are willing to house the migrants in their homes for money. What is funny is that, all these ideas came up for migrants, but the homeless on the country's streets for years and nobody gaf! California has 2/3 of the country's homeless, but we are prioritizing migrants over the homeless mfs we have already in the country.

in my country we have a huge immigrant influx and there are housing programs funded by the government and they seem to work for the most part l, although it's a small sample size for now as opposed to illegal immigration. most of them eventually get a citizenship though

I think the best way to solve this problem is to solve whatever it's that is causing these immigrants from coming to different countries. This of course is very hard and likely not possible but if we were able to that would be the best way so everyone can he happy. ❤
There is a process to become legal. Yes, everyone certain situations in their country might be more dire than other, but that is why you can seek asylum here if you are in danger. You should go through the proper channels not only because it is there for you to do but because the process is made so you are able because if it was unfair and expensive that is where there would be problems. There is a process, just do the freaking process.

I just don't think it would be a good idea to provide free housing. Especially with the cost of living being so high there are so many american citizens who are struggling to get by. So it dosn't make sense to spend resources on free housing for people to come into the country when there are people already here that need that too.
And housing would still only fix part of the problem, they still wouldn't be able to get a job because no documentation, how would they pay for groceries and healthcare? The idea of free housing sounds nice but it's completely impractical.
