I once went to the filming of one of their episodes, the one where they went to a island resort and there was a hurricane. Really impressed with their level of professionalism. And as a member of the studio audience, getting to see the three sets lined up next to each other. I noticed that Mark Linn-Baker appeared very protective of Bronson Pinchot while on set. Very sweet.
@@leelee185 was over by the Chinese Theatre and someone from the studio was giving out tickets. If memory serves me they bussed us over to the studio. Was a cool experience! Was instructed to try to laugh again when they had to redo a scene. Which I think happened twice but it wasn’t because of the actors, it was something to do with camera angles/filming.
The man who played Larry lives in Manhattan. I saw him on the train and was incredibly excited when I saw him. He was surprised that I recognized him and was very gracious Ive seen him a few more times on the subway. Ive even snuck a picture of him
I loved the '80s sitcoms. I still remember the episode when Balki was a ninja on the mantle. Such good stuff back then. I miss Family Ties, Sanford and Son, Growing Pains, Dukes of Hazzard, Good Times, Different Strokes, and many others. Those days are gone.
Ooh don't say the Dukes of Hazzard. The SJW's will freak out and call you a racist for liking a show with a confederate flag....OMG! EEK! Granted I'm being sarcastic, but they are nuts! I loved the Dukes growing up as well. Being a 70's kid I loved 🚗🚓cars🚔🚘 and 🏍motorcycles🏍, watching both of them jump caverns, and busses! Evel Knievel was my favorite! ↙️🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌 ↖️⬅️⬅️⬅️ 🏍 The 70's and 80's shows had more heart and soul than anything made today. Yet the people who "know what's best for us" want some of them erased? @@EdsterIII I always thought that it would be a fun episode on Cops to see a character like Rosco P. Coltrane. He will bust open the door to a crack house with his arms straight out, gun in both hands, legs shaking left to right yelling "Fffffrrrrreeeeeezzzzzeeeee!"
I enjoyed the show very much. The two main characters worked great together. I liked when Balki got hooked on television and his cousin threw the remote out the window. I always loved to watch them do the dance of joy.
Oh I remember that episode. Not only was it my first time hearing the phrase "couch potato", but after he threw the remote out the window Balki was going to just push the button on the tv, so Larry bent his finger. It was just so odd it was great :D
I'm So excited to look up and watch the show once again, alllll these years later !!! Thanks for Reminding us of this iconic Comedy Sitcom. You're AWESOME !!!!! Much Love from New York 😁🙏💛💙💛💙💛💙🙏🙏🙏
I had such a crush on Melanie Wilson, was probably the first reason I started watching the show. My favorite episode was when they were learning martial arts and they dressed up as ninjas around their apartment.
We loved the show so much that my mom and I had dogs named Larry and Balki! Awesome memories. We went on to watch Family Matters also, couldn't miss TGIF!
Loved this show. I laughed the hardest at the bit where Balki and Larry were volunteer fire fighters and Larry called 911 to the phone that Balki answered in the same room, thinking it was someone else who called.
You didn’t mention Ernie Sabela who played not only Pumba in the Lion King with Nathan Lane but also Larry and Balki’s boss. He also was the beach Club boss on “Saved By The Bell” I personally saw Mark Lynn Baker and Ernie Sabela and Nathan Lane perform in the 1996 Broadway cast of “A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum”. Ernie also came through my register at Cracker Barrel near his home in New York in 2000.
Loved this show as a kid. The expression "you can't go home again" definitely applies in this case though. I got nostalgic and bored during lockdown and streamed a few episodes of some shows I used to watch. Perfect Strangers was one I revisited. I really wish I hadn't. It was shockingly bad. In fact almost everything I watched was awful, especially sitcoms. Cheers held up. Magnum PI and Miami Vice were still fun. All the stuff I absolutely loved at 10 years old: Knight Rider, Incredible Hulk, A- Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Diff'rent Strokes, Webster, Facts of Life, Silver Spoons. Unwatchable. I wish I'd left them in the past and kept my fond memories.
These two actors were masters of physical comedy, and yes while many episodes were predictable, and they always ended with Larry learning a lesson, the timing and delivery of the stars on this show make me laugh to this day. Our favorite episode is the one where Larry tries to replace Jennifer's shower head instead of calling the plumber. The scene where they flood the bathroom is right up there with Lucy and Ethyl wrapping chocolates on the assembly line for us!
I’ve binged this series several times. It’s campy and predictable but that doesn’t have to bad. Some days we need a little predictability and this show always makes me laugh all these years later.
You of course forgot to mention Sam Anderson who played their boss Mr. Sam Gorpley / Harrison Harper at the newspaper for 37 episodes, and Ernie Sabela who played Mr. Donald 'Twinkie' Twinkacetti for 22 episodes.
The favourite episode of "Perfect Strangers" for me & my Mom was the one w/ the exploding bibi babkas, "Just Desserts" title, maybe? We laughed so hard that my Mom fell off her bed, lol. Also, Bronson is in "The Langoliers", Stephen King's short story.
I find myself occasionally searching for recent photos of Melanie Wilson. She was a knock-out in the 80s and 90s. She probably doesn't look the same today, but I'm still curious what she looks like now.

I was watching a movie called "ADAM" and Mark-Linn Baker appeared on screen, i pointed at the TV and said "IT'S COUSIN LARRY!!!!" (This was about 10 years ago)
Perfect Strangers was one of my favorite sitcoms growing up. I loved watching family matters till Jo Marie Payton who played Harriet left. And was replaced with someone else. The problem was more glaring in the episode Eddie decided he wanted to become a cop. She was against it because he's her son. It didn't work because she wasn't the one who spent years building up the mother son relationship with Darius McCrary the actor who played Eddie. For that reason I didn't buy her concern or conflict with her husband Carl played by Reginald Vel Johnson.
You wouldn't think Denzel Washington would be such a jackass, but you don't really know how these people are unless you get some inside info. It was so bad that it gave Pinchot PTSD. That's pretty bad. Same for Pinchot's sexual escapades......sheesh.
This was one of my favorites growing up. This and Bosom Buddies, and all of the rest of the standard kids favorites. Bronson Pinchot has always been extremely talented and funny as can be. His skit in Beverly Hills Cop was EPIC, and again in Beverly Hills Cop 3. This show somehow faded away? I honestly don't remember why either. But I did love it. This show may be corny by "today's" standards, but the shows nowadays in my opinion lack the heart and soul that these shows had.

Terrible to know Bronson has bad behavior. Awesome to know Nelson Mandela liked the show though, and Lucille Ball liked it too. Also I wish you covered what Gorpley is up to.
I was a viewer back in the day. I also ran into MLB at the LAX airport. He sat at a table close by us. I tried not to stare or be too annoying. It is not every day you see someone you watch on television. It was my first time being around a celebrity in person.
The one with Carl Lewis in it. Larry wouldn't believe that Balki met the track star and even invited him to an event in their town. Larry brought Balki to the venue but left him as the wind picked up. The following day, Larry still wouldn't believe that Balki actually got inside the venue courtesy of Carl Lewis. Moments later somebody knocked on the door and it was Carl Lewis.
Pretty sure they are in Appleton WI , but I may be wrong or you may address this later in video.. I love in WI so I always liked that part of it… if I’m wrong than I have a new funny story too tell lol

Mark Linn Baker's facial expressions made the show for me.
I've always said that. I like both him and Balki on the show, but I was always more of a fan of Larry's character.

The first time I seen Belita Moreno was on Mommie Dearest as Christina's producer.
The episode where they are all 4 trapped in the basement is good, but the Balki turning into a NINJA was the BEST episode ever!
