Haven't built a PC since back in the XP days. My 11 year old wanted a modern gaming PC. I went through so many videos that showed incorrect info and zero of the manufacturers supplied detailed install instructions. This was the only one that got me working because of the detailed correct explanations. Thank You!
Come for the build stay for the '80s synth. This saved my life LOL I have never built a machine before and I was staring helplessly at all of these wires and I had no idea what I was doing but although our Hardware was slightly different you guided me well enough through the process. Thank you
@@kamata93 The DeepCool CH510 has no airflow like all solid front panel cases plus come with only 1 fan when the Montec 903 case comes with 4 pre-installed 140mm fans and great airflow thanks to mesh panels. The only thing the CH510 smokes is your CPU....
Extremely useful vid. I did not have exactly that mobo but it helped me a lot to work my way around, because I did not understand how that "thingy" for the fans worked. Thank you!
Awesome video work ! One of the cleanest and clearest instructional videos, love the music too. Sound engineer tip, cut some 1khz with an EQ on your voice, otherwise everything is perfect ! Cheers from China !
Built in this case, all went well. Lots of room to work with, obviously that comes with its cons, as the case is big as hell, but I prefer performance and airflow to size and space and this case definitely gives you a lot of room to work, good for new builders or just people that want to make sure they have space for all their components without question. This case will fit it. Questions for anyone, because I cannot clearly tell in the video: Do the fans from the AIO he installs pull air in or push it out? I'm looking at the same cooler as it's on sale. Because if it pushes instead of pulls, you would not want to replace the dust cover, in fact, you'd want to toss the cover. If it pulls, then yeah, replacing the cover is the way to be. I just could not tell.
I own this case and as a first time builder I decided to bypass the case controller when it came to the fans only. I noticed that my fans were 4 pin (4 wires) PWM. But, the case controller has 3 pin (3 wires) connector that plugs to the motherboard. Therefore, I thought it would turn my fans into DC output instead of PWM. Even in this video you can see it’s a 3 wires connector into the motherboard. If I am wrong about this please let me know. What made me look into this was how loud the fans are. They were running at max speed even when it was idle. It was scary because I had to learn how to go into the BIOS but at least I learned more about my gaming pc.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this guide. The Manual for the case AND the motherboard manual are nigh useless after the Front Panel cables, so telling where the LED, Fan Power Cable and the last Sata cable go is really annoying.
Thanks for making this video mate, I just got this case yesterday. It's still in the box in fact because I'm traveling right now and will not be home for the next few days. I was wondering if you could answer a quick and simple question for me: Did your case come with all the standoffs preinstalled in position for a normal ATX mobo like the one you used? Because I did not see you install them yourself.
Reviewing your video again I see that you connect the ARGB of the 3 Valkyrie Dragonfang fans (which are in a chain) and the pump to a single ARGB port on the hub controller. Seeing that I already have the answer to my previous question. I would like to know what the Ampere limit that each connector of the fun hub supports is, but I have not asked to find out. Thank you for your video, which is the best of all the ones I have seen in relation to the Montech Air 903 Max
Thank you for an in-depth video on how to hook everything up. I do have a question. Is it necessary for me to hook the RGB header from the hub (to the motherboard) if I only want the use the LED SW button to control the RGB? I rather use this then having it connected to the motherboard and dealing with RGB software.
Just swapped HP Omen 30L to this. Excellent OOB for fan hub & air flow. Fan speeds are consistently loud though, so something to consider. Still, no regrets.
Hello, your video was incredible, everything was very well explained, I loved the part about installing the cables from the front panel and the HUB case, it helped me a lot, Now I know what to do to build my new gaming PC with Montech Air 903 Max Thank you very much for the video :) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
This case is perfect the only thing that bothers me in the screws used to put the panels on dont align easily. I feel like they could really fix this minor issue easily
Sure you figured this out by now, but in case you have not built yet, yes you can. The 5V 3 pin headers are only for the ARGB lighting controls. So all the fans should turn on for you, and you should even be able to control their speeds from your BIOS, if you install them correctly. You just will not have any lights. Weird your board doesn't even have a single 3 pin ARGB header on it.
Congrats! How did your build go? What specs / parts did you throw in? I'm almost there! Just need a CPU cooler & a PSU. I'm probably going to get an air cooler though, I have no intention of ever OC'ng the 12700K. My first build in ~12 years and man my fingers are trembling lol.
Very well done video, thanks ! I do have an additional question: what is the total thickness of the AIO water cooler unit that you have setup on top of the case? I do have an Artic freeze III with a total thickness of 66mm and I want to make sure it will not interfere with the motherboard. Thanks!
I'm going to put 3 artic 140 PST ARGB on the front of the case by connecting the ARGB cables to the hub controller on the case and the RPM to a fan connector on the motherboard. Until then I have it clear. If I put the 3 fans that come with the case at the back and on top and connect them to the hub controller and from there to an ARGB connector on my motherboard, those HP fans will be compatible with mystic light msi. I have looked on the official Montech website and it doesn't say anything about it. I have also looked at the mystic light msi compatible devices and those default fans do not appear. In conclusion, the ARGB light on those front fans will be able to work via software or in other words, how can I know what software is compatible with those HP 140 fans that come in the box? The artic 140 do appear compatible on the official msi website. Thank you and your work is excellent.
As previous comment mentioned, and I have also built in the case and your video was very helpful, but why, after installing a liquid cooling system that pushes air out, would you reinstall the magnetic dust filter? Unless I am missing something, that will act to collect dust in your case and be counter productive to the rest of the filter. This is a rather large oversight, unless I am missing something. I hope you consider responding and addressing this to give us your logic. If it was a mistake, that's fine, people make them, if we are mistaken, then please correct us, but with liquid cooling, you really need to get your facts straight to avoid mishaps. Otherwise, thanks so much for the class video friend.
My build will not have a liquid cooler. Eould you recommend I get output fans to mount across the top of the case? If so, do you recommend 3x 120 or 2x 140? Also, do you recommend additional fans on the bottom of the case?

Is it possible to install an arctic liquid freezer 2 in this case? length 45.8, height 13.8, width 3.8 it seems to me that if you remove the fan from above can you help me with that?
Will you be doing any builds in the Thermaltake Ceres 300? I have all of my parts ready except for the case because I really want to use the Ceres 300 but I haven't found any build videos using it yet so I'm hesitant to bite the bullet on it.
In the section where you are connecting the individual led cables, I have an extra connector with 2 pins that reads LED switch. Where does this one go?
I'm interested in knowing if the front that holds the mesh panel is metal or plastic. I ask this because if it were made of metal I could make a homemade dust filter. Thank you.

At this point I begin to question if my front middle fan has a faulty pwm wire or not. 3: i connect fan hub's pwm lead to SYS_FAN2, all fans start running at 100% rpm. 4: i moved back the fan hub's pwm lead to sysfan1 and attached pwm lead of front middle fan to sysfan2. Lo and behold it works!! Now im guessing if my hub itself is faulty, but then again it cant be, because the same 3 fans that were syncing (back + front top amd bottom) always noatter which slot i wire them in the fan hub bur the front middle fan just does not seem to sync if its connected to the hub. 11:22 How can you determine if the motherboard will have rgb connectors for your case? The one I got doesn’t have them though pc part picker didn’t indicate that it wouldn’t work
You can still plug the case fan power header into the motherboard and control the speeds, you just wont be able to change the rgb from the pc , you will have to use the led button on the case, it has 21 diffrerent modes or something so not a big deal imo
So wait how do you plug in the fans? I don't have this case but I have a somewhat similar case I think in terms of the fans and how they are connected but I can't for the life of me figure out how.
If you hold the LED button for a second it puts it in MOBO control mode. Then pressing the LED button again puts it back to the case presets at any time
If you watch the video you can see that he connects the ARGB of the 3 CPU cooler fans and the ARGB of the pump to an ARGB connector on the hub controller. I think the lancool 216 is still the standard, but if you need to save a couple bucks, this seems to be an on par value. The fact it also has a type c on the top/front at 65 for the base and 75 for the RGB version is pretty top tier.
