I ran into permission issues when doing labs for my AWS cert. After a couple days of troubleshooting and learning about linux permissions, I figured out I needed to make a chmod change.🤦♂
Louis Rossman just put up a video about a engineer he looks up to got cancelled I think he means you I used to listen to your videos 15 years ago when IT was the big thing
Yes, thank you. This is exactly what I thought. This video is not for me as I do not even know what Linux permissions are. The CLI in Linux does not make any sense to me. I wish it didn't need to exist. So, I guess you are saying that if you find Linux permissions impossible (which I do,) then I will also find this impossible. I can understand your reasoning. Some people are clever, and some people like myself have less of a brain than a potato.
Linux permissions, as the name suggests, are permissions associated with files and directories on the system that govern who (among users on the system) is permitted to read, write, or execute as a program, those files or directories. The Linux CLI is quite important and makes a lot of sense, particularly when you're administering a server online, which 90% of the time would be running Linux. You would likely not be watching this video or commenting on it, had someone not administered a Linux server for RUclips. Now that I've explained Linux permissions to you (and I hope you've understood what they are), I hope you also do not think that coding in python is impossible. It is not. It's just a matter of whether you're willing to learn.
Please keep doing your classes! People need this :) Love from Greece
I’m genuinely really excited for these videos, Eli! Thanks for doing this man.
Thank you so much for sharing all this knowledge Eli! I like how you explain EVERYTHING. Let's go part 3!
