    I love Floridas diverse ecosystem. It looks like it will push the bike and rider close to their limits. I can’t wait to do the Florida divide soon…ish. Great work Clint 👍

    It’s pronounced cat-man-do. It’s the largest city in Nepal. It sits at the base of the Himalayas. You would fly there to climb Mount Everest. You want to try it after this bike packing trip?😂

      Yup. Really great MTBing there too.

      I was surprised Clint didn't know that. 🤔 The name of the city I mean not whether there is biking there.

    Thanks for sharing your adventure Clint. An interesting and different ride for you and plenty of new things for us all to see. I like the hammock looks great and better than sleeping on the ground.

    I got the RLT0RDO because of your vids (and Gravel Cyclist's) vids as well. Got just the frame and am building it up over the next few weeks.

    Hey Clint, would love to see you do the TNGA (Trans North Georgia Adventure) coming up the end of this August. Should be a good fit for you if you wish to continue dabbling in bikepacking.
    I think it suits you because it is nowhere near as long as something like Tour Divide (only 380'ish miles) over a few days, but you would do well speedwise with your level of fitness. But its not so fast speedwise like some of these shorter gravel races where the young guys just smoke everyone. The event suits people in the 35 to 55 year old age bracket well. Its more about mental toughness with decent mountain bike skills rather than pure speed.
    If you dont know TNGA.... research it. One of the toughest, long-runnng bikepack events in the country. Your Niner mountain bike is suitable for that event. Dont use a gravel bike (big mistake). Your mountain biking skills will serve you better than most on that course. Its not super technical, but enough decent challenges that the mountain bikers fare much better than guys who fancy themselves fast gravel riders.
    I attempted it last year. Wow, was it tough. The elevation gain is crazy (its more than what is listed on the websites). However, you dont have to "race" it per se. Really, the event for almost all participants is just about finishing it. Most participants have to come back several years to do the whole thing. You can do it your first year, though because I can see your skill and fitness is there.

      I’ve actually looked into that. I’m going to be considering it. Thank you!

    Great videos. Question, any issue putting that Ortlieb rack (don’t care how you pronounce it ;) ) on the carbon?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  5 месяцев назад +1

      No issues at all. I use the eyelets for the pegs but you could strap them on as well. The top part clamp on to the seat. Loaded down the rack probably only has about 10-15 pounds.

      @@ClintGibbs is your seat post carbon? That is the issue that I have heard concern

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  5 месяцев назад

      @@srb6345 carbon. But figure how much weight is put on a seat post from your bodyweight over hard bumps. If you mount the rack low, that should be fine. Most of the weight is on the pegs.
