There should be just as many marijuana licenses as there are liquor licenses in NYC. One should be just as easy to obtain as the other.

non american here, but if the store is illegal or unlicensed, why would they give them the monies back? wouldnt that be evidence of wrong doing?
Good question, my guess is that the stores in question have a license to operate with certain products that they are legally able to sell but these stores are also selling products that is either illegal or requires a different type of license to sell. Therefore the cash being seized, a portion of it is from actual legal sales, which is why the authorities are supposed to give it back in the first place ?

I was today years old when I learned NYC has a Sheriffs Office
I remember Miranda when he worked in Midtown South Precinct in Manhattan as a LT. back in 2008 . Precinct is right next door from the courthouse.
Midtown North Precinct is right next to the Midtown Community Court, not Midtown South.

I’m not sure how many former Cops you have asked, but every raid is videotaped and recorded on body cameras. Not easy to do what you’re suggesting.

So cut the bull! Still today the first thing that happens in raids, is to look for any camera's, and if there are any, turn them away or cover them! So cut the bull shit! Still today turning off police camera's is not even illegal, and is totally accepted!
