  • Veto Pro Pack vs Klein vs Milwaukee - Service Tool Backpack Review
I review the three tool backpacks I've used over the last 5 years.
I'm not being endorsed or paid by any of these three companies so this is an honest review from a service and repair tech.
    Timestamps:
    Klein - 1:04
    Veto Pack - 17:25
    Milwaukee - 29:30
If you have any questions about the backpacks or the tools I show leave a message in the comments.

Veto has a 5yr warranty on all their bags. Been using their bags for over 7yrs now and I can testify that their quality & reliability is a force to be reckoned with. Also remember Veto covers multiple trades and offers multiple bags and all kinds of sizes. Its like a blue collars candy land.

Have the Milwaukee for awhile now and it's a great bag. Like you said, with plenty of room to spare. The front protects my sensitive test equipment. Definitely has better interior pockets than the others. Will keep mine for a long time. Thanks for the video. Nice job.

Nice job, Thanks ! I grew up using an all leather "pouch", I still love a fully exposed pouch, the new style nylon ones I've been getting from our local suppliers fall apart in short order, cheap.
I'm looking at the smaller Veto's, but might just get a customized Nylon/Leather hybrid made by my local leather shop.... something to keep the nylon bag from blowing apart at the bottom where the screwdrivers & wrenches make contact.

  • @realstaceylewis

1 thing I’ll mention about all of these bags is that are are all larger in person than they appear in the video(s). I personally have the Milwaukee job site bad which is the generation prior to the one shown in the video and it’s great. Stands up never falls and tons of room. I keep my drill inside seated on the floor along with bit cases. The drill sits there just as comfortably as it would in its own case.
I do however feel Veto is the best you just have to pick the right trade. Veto is like Ford. You’ve gotta order what you want because the variations are too many to just pick one. They are true pros.

Im a plumber, been running a Klien backpack for years now. Just upgraded to a veto pro pack wheeler tech. The pocket panels can come out and be changed with different ones. This means you could keep one half completely open for bulk things and have the other half with tools. Could probably cut a pannel in half to have some tool storage on top but keep the bottom open. Its a heavy bag but wheeling it around like a luggage bag is very nice when your able to

Honestly, the tape measure has only been an issue for me personally with cheaper tape measures that have those exact little skinny cheap clips. If you put a nice quality tape measure like a Stanley or Milwaukee with a larger clip that fits a lot more snug on those clips, you wouldn't have to worry about that.

I like both your Veto and Milwaukee bag. And I recommend 1 EDC backpack with daily variable extra spare space plus task categorized tool backpacks, suit cases, boxes:
1.) Start your professional EDC with a light backpack/tool case plus a robust tool box (my 1st profession: Radio- & TV Service Technician 1980s),
2.) Switch to specialized EDC backpack, I use Laptop/Notebook business suite case (my 2nd profession: Computer Engineer & Software Developer fewer EDC tools) but still prefer EDC backpack (Laptop/Notebook pocket, few tools pouches, big main pocket) when in town walking/cycling or public transportation bus/tram/train,
3.) Resort your growing number of tools together into category-specific bags/cases/boxes (my hand tools categories: fine electronic DMM & solding, electrical & mechanical wood & metal work) which I put into 2 aluinium tool suit cases (tool/camera division) and steel tool box,
4.) Electrical tools come & stay in their original tool case - add tool specific extras (drill bits into the drill case, sandpaper into sanders tool case ...) so you just grab the drill case and miss nothing when drilling,
5.) Put further installation material into a big bag/box, which should be big enough to carry also needed tool cases to have both hands free to carry everything outside your backpack and shoulder bag.

Summer of 2019 I was working on a customer’s AC when the roofers dropped a 4” x 12” wooden beam. I managed to get out of the way in time but it fell off the roof right my on top of my Veto backpack. I had my 6” long 1/4” magnetic nut driver in one of the little side pockets on the outside of the bag. The nut driver was bent over at a 30* angle but not a single stitch even popped on the Veto, it shrugged off a several hundred pound wooden beam falling from a height of 10 feet with nothing but a few scuffs, and other than the nut driver the rest of my tools were completely undamaged. That made me a Veto fan boy for life, the Klein or Milwaukee never would have with stood that

My Milwaukee take measure holder ripped off. The tape holder also also tore off as well. Bag falls on it’s face. I love Milwaukee but they didn’t design a great bag

As a roofer it baffles me why it is so hard to find a suitable backpack. I'd like the outer strength and comfort of the Veto backpack but less compartments. I checked out a Veto backpack today and I couldn't even reach the bottom, too much clutter. All backpacks seem to cater to electricians.

I dont know how you can't fit your flash light, I have my full size milwaukee impact with a 9amp battery in the front and my milqaukee flash light same size as your Dewalt in the back portion of the backpack and no struggle closing the zipper and my bag is full loaded at 50lbs

Nah. Had several of their bags including the one in this video. Veto is way too big for what it carries and weighs a lot itself. It becomes really heavy loaded with tools. Plus, they can get fucked charging $300 for a backpack made in China.

Ralph Castro shit That klein always Fall to the back lol and my Milwaukee always rips at the extension cord storage flap in front. So I just went with the fieldpiece service bag since I don’t do installs anymore that veto shit nice but man it’s expensive

    • @ralphlaurencastro

Yeah expensive but really worth it. It's easier to organize stuff. With the front and back separated. I don't forget tools anymore.
