I love watching Amy cook. Her recipes are so home cook friendly with simple ingredients that normal people have or at least familiar to them. No "what the hell is that?" ingredients just normal ones. Love your show Amy!!

Totally with you....make dessert without the " LOW" stuff. I have a recipe for a toasted coconut cheesecake and it uses coconut CREAM.... Well, no one in the grocery had a clue what I was asking about. I actually called the chef the recipe came from, wonderful man, and he told me where to find it. This was long before Thai food came into popularity. It turned out INCREDIBLE......and the chef was my hero!

Amy thank you thank you for this recipe as I love coconut cream pie, and I would improvise a pastry bag with a gallon size plastic bag and snip one of the corners of it and push in the little plastic nozzle and just scoop the whipping cream into the bag and twist the bag and it works great. No need to buy a pastry bag.

I am positive your coconut pies are delicious, this one of my favorites and brings back so many memories of my Mother, my Grand Mother's and even Great Grand Mother's pies. They always used fresh coconuts in their pies they saved the milk from the Nut and hand grated the coconut for the pie, wonderful old German Jewish recipes similar to your recipie. Thank you for all you do, God Bless you and all those who work to produce the fine videos.
I LOVE you in the kitchen! Your down to earth and just real. Its not always perfect and there is mess ups but you don't redo the videos you just roll with it !
Amy I have diabetes 2 and I was wondering if there's any way to make this pie without sa much sugar or a substitute. I use stevia in my coffee and I know they have a baking stevia. Could you come up with a tasty coconut pie for diabetics? Thank you love your show!

I agree sanitation's important but there has been many times for Amy will touch raw chicken and not wash your hands and then go toss the salad with your fingers that have been touching chicken. Then there are times she will get a spoon and dip it and some kind of a sauce taste it and put that very same spoon back in the sauce.... Other times she'll get food on her fingers and pop those fingers in her mouth on lick them and then use the same licked finger to start peeling something or another... There's a lot of cross-contamination in that kitchen.

Coconut cream pie is my favorite pie too. I agree about the full fat coconut milk instead of low fat. Low fat is watered down coconut milk, not as good. You have the best cooking videos. Very enjoyable to watch, and fun.

Hi Amy, if you're making a pie, and don't have a pastry bag for whipped cream, you can also use a plastic baggie that you seal up at the top. Just get your baggie, snip a hole in the corner big enough, so that if you want to use a piping tip, you can, then put your piping tip of choice in, making sure it's secure, then put your whipped cream in, seal the bag up nice and tight, making sure there's no air in it that could pop it open at the top, then pipe the cream on your pie in your desired design! Your pie looked GORGEOUS by the way!
