Thank you for showing in detail how you made those settings and then the close ups of the finished product. Thanks to you I will now try making them myself, your videos are greatly appreciated. And once again a beautiful finished product.
Yet another stunning piece of work by a master craftsman...thank u! Oh may I say, the 3rd piece of music with the ethereal guitar fits ur work so well! Soft, elegant and masterful...
Saludos brother.!!
I really do have to consider this kind of stuff a form of art. Because it’s obviously not just anybody can do it and doing good, it’s no different than a masterpiece. I wish I had this kind of talent. Talent.
What beautiful craftsmanship, as all your pieces of work are.it is a true honor and a privilege to watch someone such as yourself make these incredible pieces from scratch!keep the videos coming.good luck and good bless!
The claws on these settings are beautiful; perfectly suited to the older stones. They are almost fluid in appearance, gently clasping the lovely, lumpy Old Mine Cut and the beautiful ruby. Sometimes a coloured gem can be so special as to make one salivate. This fits that bill.
The ruby was so pretty and I was wondering why you fused the gold and silver sides together then cut them apart and refuse them again was it to get a gist where to bend um and put everything?
Nice job but I have a question what kind of torch are you using or do you have any recommendation of a good torch to work with and for one who don't wanna use oxygen tank thanks😃
Ciao Maestro. Bel contrarie'. Complimenti. Buon lavoro
The term 'pigeon's blood' is often regarded as a misnomer by appraiser's today. Colour is often described as a degree of intensity and a double-barreled coupling of colors (for instance: purplish-red). The take away from this: exactly what is the colour of pigeon's blood. The longer it sits on the pavement, the darker it gets! As an observation, this ruby is a beautiful intense and saturated red. Personally, I rate many coloured stones on their resemblance to a candy! I have seen emeralds that make me drool.
Not iron. Use at the least silver (you can buy pre-milled lengths in ring shaped "wire"). It is dirt cheap and relatively easy to work, cut, solder, polish etc. Buy silver solder (also not too expensive). You can but zirconium and "grown" rubies and similar stones for practice. For tools: jewelers saw, pliers, blow torch, solder pad, flux, mini drill bits and hand drill, files and polishing mats will get you pretty far. And go check out Soham Harrison's videos for good explanations of the theory or buy a beginners manual.
Pete Moss It's some kind if tar resin, if memory serves. It gets soft above... I want to say 120C. Then you can get most of it off and reuse it. Pretty sure you can get working ones that soften at lower temps as well, though... I've seen some that went soft in very hot water (very convenient), but not sure about the formulation of it. The music titles are written in order at the end, so just google it. It's from a free music library. =)
Thank you for this channel. It's a true privilege to watch a master craftsman at work.

the dust from this person's workbench is worth a lot of money.
Usually us jewelmakers broom the dust and molten it
Yeah, they don't get rid of the dust. It becomes more jewelry later on, same thing with the little bits and pieces sawn off.
Excellentas always thank you !!!

How much was this ring? And how much if the ruby was a "Pigeon Blood" grade?
if its not a custom piece i know he sells stuff on his web site.
It was made to order along with the customer's gems. I don't have a e-shop online. I realize jewel only on order.
Thanks for replying!

At 14:33, what is the clay-looking stuff called that the ring is in? Also, where can this music be found?
Pete Moss It's some kind if tar resin, if memory serves. It gets soft above... I want to say 120C. Then you can get most of it off and reuse it. Pretty sure you can get working ones that soften at lower temps as well, though... I've seen some that went soft in very hot water (very convenient), but not sure about the formulation of it.

Thanks for the correct explanation
greatest! I Love you work. What is the name of the clamp you use at 13:00?

Fine! Greate!

Just a note, for the sake of perfection. If 'contrarie' is the french word, the accent is on the right side, like such : contrarié
