He makes nice enough pieces by he throws away so much time the way he does things. He could have simply carved the ring out of wax, used that wax to create a silicon mold and then anytime he needed a similar ring he could just inject some wax into the mold, then use that to cast the ring that just needs cleanup work and final engraving. Instead, he spent days just creating the ring before he ever got to the cleanup and engraving.
hi baronstone, no offence but I think slow is beautiful... the traditional way is interesting, I am intrigued by the making process and I have been watching Alberto videos cos I enjoyed watching the whole process :) Every ring is different, that is why it is custom made. I would hve bought off from any shop if I want something from a silicone mold.
You probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Trenton Rafael thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Relic? That Cavallin model M. 100/55 is less than forty years old, I know, I have one purchased in 1983. If you you want to talk relic I have an Oliver from 1920 and a Crocker flat mill that that is twenty years older. Then again maybe I am the relic, forty years at the bench here.
I love your engraving, as for the making of the ring i'ts not very professional the reason it has too many joints and I'm very surprised it didn't collapse on soldering, it would have been better and quicker if you made a round tube first and then cut out the inside dome and as for the top-plate it should have been soldered on the top of the ring not inside because then you would see the soldering line around the top of the ring.
A pity with this customer's order. Nothing on top of the ring engraved, left blank. Question begs is there any meaning intended for no design or initials on it?
From scratch scratch most impressive. Was that a soft stone block that you made the depression in? I never thought of using that. I liked the way you put it together. Always a treat watching you Sir.
Quick Question: I am having a custom Signet ring made with 18K as well as this. I want it solid, and I notice it was always your plan to leave the underside "hollow" instead of solid 18K...why? Thanks
ИМХО . У чувака есть лазер ,для нанесения рисунка..., но раскрой он делает от фонаря "под напильник"??? Может это"" латунь ? или "Зло" валяется под ногами ?? еще раз ИМХО .
hi sir, thank you very much! chevalier is a pinky ring, with a facade in which the stamp for lacquer wax was engraved, today they are also made with special characteristics
Talk about taking the long way around! I mean the final product looks nice, but why didn't you just cast the ring instead of cutting it out of multiple parts and then spending hours bending it to shape before soldering it? All you had to do was carve the ring out of wax first, then cast it normally. That way you do not have any joints to solder, you just have to use a file to clean up the edges after casting it. The way you made it did not make it easier to engrave, all it did was create multiple potential points of failure. I mean do you not know how to do lost wax casting or do you not own the equipment to do it that way? I find it hard to believe that you can't afford the equipment to do it if you don't have it. So why do things the hard way when you could literally save yourself a day of work by creating the ring from wax and then casting it? Heck you would be better off creating it out of wax and then making a silicon mold that can be injected with wax to save time in the future if you need to make another one. So why do things the way you are?
You seem very interested in saving time, so much that I am afraid that you cannot understand that some goldsmiths do not care about it. It is unimportant. What we try to do is to make a product in the best way possible. And casting is never that. It is, for the most part, just shit.
He probably spent less than a day making this, so while you were waiting for the the burnout oven to finish he was done. By the way a hand made (fabricated directly in metal) piece of jewelry is superior to a casting in every way.
@@dordiwesterlund2528 A cast ring would be much more structurally sound than having multiple solder joints. Obviously, he's not opposed to taking shortcuts, since he uses a laser engraver.
Cerchi sempre la perfezione nell'esecuzione e nel design. Questo richiede non solo l'abilità di un maestro orafo ma l'anima di un artista.

@@Baronstone cast jewellery is not comparable to hand forged jewellery. Hand forged pieces are more robust, no porosity issues

Use paper or plastic to separate the lead from the gold, because you end up poisoning the gold

Why do you cut two separate pieces for the ring instead of one piece
Why not make the Ring from one piece of metal, and bend round ?
