    The chromatic scale for sound check is perfect. It hurts nobody to use it for it! Nice video! Cheers from Spain!

    Once again, Jayme is spot-on correct. Always solid advice. Especially the chromatic run for sound check. It's predictable, as well, for the FOH.
    One thing I might add (in a 6 minute version of said topic) is to be reliable. On time with the proper and functioning gear, applicable for that gig or session.

    Great vid, thanks Jayme. Regarding your first bit of advice, what about the use of ghost notes? Those are cool, right? If so, are you saying if you are going to use dead notes to syncopate something a bit, it's cool, but to watch the dynamic level of the ghosted note?

    Hi Jayme, great advice, as always. I have a question that I've not heard you cover. As a producer or studio engineer, when the bass player walks in the door, what equipment do you want to see him/her bring on say his first visit? I'm thinking just the right bass for whichever genre is being recorded, and little else. Just wondered your take. #RockOn

    hi Jaime, one quick question, if you use a compressor, will that eliminate the "peeking"?

    • @deadbeatstudios
      @deadbeatstudios  5 лет назад

      Yes it'll tame peaks, but it'll also tame your playing (which you may or may not want).

    Stopping the note is as important as starting the note. Without it, the bass can become mush.
