be aware that this brand itself isnt just for curly hair, it is free of all the bad stuff but its generally for all hair types except for the specific curly line. if your hair isnt good with non curly hair based products be weary. i personally am able to use straight hair based products and my hear feels perfectly fine
my hair loves cantu. cantu curling cream makes my hair look just like biancas. which is crazy. of course I have more damage from lots of heat use, but I'm almost there.
Tbh I used to think my hair was naturally dry and knotty ever since I started wearing it natural but I realized that the Cantu products I’ve been using have made my hair feel more dry than usual. The leave in conditioner repair cream has made it especially hard to detangle my hair when it comes to wash day.

I love this brand. It's affordable and even cheaper when it is on sale. It's cruelty free which is really important to me. I use the Bamboo Fibre one and love it.
Personally the Maui curl smoothie worked better than the shea moisture curl smoothie the shea moisture one made my hair super frizzy and it would get super dry by the end of the day. Maui really defines my curls so much better and it really gave my hair tons of moisture as well andI just got it yesterday.

Curl smoothie & the hair mask are awesome, whether or not my hair is wet/dry they completely absorb into my hair; no residue on my hands nor my boyfriend's! Sometimes I find the Maui curl smoothie a little heavy, so if you want something lighter I would try using the mask as a leave-in like it says on the jar. Both moisturize and define wonderfully but the smoothie is thicker. I also detangle with the mask instead of the normal conditioner. The Maui Moisture Mask has great slip and is probably my favorite hair product right now.
I saw these today and passed them up... and accidentally bought a leave in conditioner from Cantu with SULPHATES AND SILICONES! Ughhh, please pray for me 🙏

I LOVE the heal & hydrate hair mask! It also is fantastic as a leave in! I use a little bit on my ends becausd they usually look dry and damaged, but the heal & hyrdate as a leave in makes it look fantastic!
I love the Maui products line. The curl smoothie it is amazing I use it everyday . And the Maui hair Mask it was the best hair mask I ever used. But I kept in a hour . and my hair absolutely loved all the moisture it gave to me so I use it a every week.
I’ve started swimming every week, and was using the Shea moisture JBCO line but the chlorine was drying out the back of my hair, I saw the pink bottles of the Shea Maui line and so far I love it!! Cheaper and my hair is more moisturised.

It has Polyquaternium 37 in it and I heard that it is similar to silicone. Since more and more people avoid silicones they use Polyquaternium instead. Hmm, I just heard about it after I bought it :/ Did you know about that? I haven't heard of Polyquaternium before. But interesting.
I've read a little about Polyquats and they are nowhere near similar to dimethicones or -siloxanes. They might not be water soluble but if you're clarifying your hair every now and then, you'll be good to go
I have been using the nourish and moisture conditioner (blue conditioner bottle) and revive and hydrate shampoo (pink shampoo bottle.) It COMPLETELY changed my hair and my hair is healthier than it’s ever been. Then I use my usual my little coco curling custard (it’s for baby’s and toddlers but it works really well sooo ima use it) and my hair is healthier than it’s ever been

I've used the conditioner and I really liked it. It's a little thick for my hair texture, but I just cut it with a little water. Loved the smell of the product, loved how it made my hair feel.
Thank goodness, a shampoo and conditioner I can afford. Brands like Camille rose shea moisture are expensive for students and these are amazing. Definitely would recommend the mask.
I love, love, love this brand. It's the only thing that keeps my long, midback length hair detangled. I've tried so many detanglers that I had pretty much given up on them and resigned myself to a long life of never wearing my hair down. I tried Maui Moisture because I am pretty much a product junkie at this point and wasn't completely happy with the natural shampoo and conditioner I was already using. I work at a grocery store and had been eyeing and smelling the stuff for weeks before finally giving in and trying it. I was so surprised by how well behaved my hair was when it dried. I kept running my hands through it because I couldn't believe that it was actually letting me. I hadn't even added anything on top of just the shampoo and conditioner; it stayed mostly detangled on its own and if it did tangle (it's too long not to), finger detangling was a breeze. I think my hair likes the aloe vera (it was the only ingredient in the product line that I HADN'T tried on my hair). I ended up buying the curl smoothie for frizz control and I alternate that with the Shea Moisture Frizz Mousse; my hair does well with both. Disclaimer: I'm wavy, not curly, so take my praise with a grain of salt if you're in the 3-4 hair range. But if you know your hair likes aloe vera, then you should consider giving this line a try. It all smells great, even the vanilla and coconut products (I usually really hate the smell of both), and you can find them pretty much anywhere now.

I've used the pink shampoo and conditioner that says heal and hydrate for dry damaged hair. What kept me hooked on it is how shiny it made my hair compared to what it used to be.

i use maui (the hibiscus one btw) and i have thick straight hair and the fact that it works well with curly hair too amazes me. i'm definitely gonna make sure i get some for my sister on her wash days
I'm kinda sensitive to smells and I bought the coconut milk one because she said it has a 'light smell'.....it doesnt. It's very overwhelming...doesn't really smell coconut-y or tropical to me just...a vague overwhelming smell, the vanilla bean one I got is way better though so if you're sensitive to smells or prone to headaches from smells stay clear of the coconut milk one 😅😅😅 I also have the curl smoothie which has a very fresh...actually pretty light scent I honestly didnt think I would like it much but it's really nice and the texture is really good too

i’ve used the smoothie about three times. i didn’t think i used too much, but, it left my hair feeling very greasy. i have very high porosity, so i was so surprised that it didn’t do me any good. also, it definitely did not work for my friz!!!! not at all. however, after sleeping the same night, when i woke up my curls were so defined! not sure how i feel about this product yet but this video definitely makes me want to try again!
Hi Bianca, I'm thinking of trying out Maui products for the first time. As my curl pattern is quite similar to yours I'm just wondering why you opted for the blue line for shampoo and conditioner as opposed to the orange line for curly hair? Have you tried the orange line before? which worked best for your hair type? (I could experiment and just try them both, but they're quite expensive in Germany >.< )

Maui line is also SILICON FREE. A lot of curly hair specific products still have silicone in them.
i have used these products for almost a year, they work great for me and are affordable...side note Walgreens sometimes has buy one get one half off!

I have been using the nourish and moisture conditioner (blue conditioner bottle) and revive and hydrate shampoo (pink shampoo bottle.) It COMPLETELY changed my hair and my hair is healthier than it’s ever been. Then I use my usual my little coco curling custard (it’s for baby’s and toddlers but it works really well sooo ima use it) and my hair is healthier than it’s ever been

I've used the conditioner and I really liked it. It's a little thick for my hair texture, but I just cut it with a little water. Loved the smell of the product, loved how it made my hair feel.
Thank goodness, a shampoo and conditioner I can afford. Brands like Camille rose shea moisture are expensive for students and these are amazing. Definitely would recommend the mask.
I love, love, love this brand. It's the only thing that keeps my long, midback length hair detangled. I've tried so many detanglers that I had pretty much given up on them and resigned myself to a long life of never wearing my hair down.
I tried Maui Moisture because I am pretty much a product junkie at this point and wasn't completely happy with the natural shampoo and conditioner I was already using. I work at a grocery store and had been eyeing and smelling the stuff for weeks before finally giving in and trying it.
I was so surprised by how well behaved my hair was when it dried. I kept running my hands through it because I couldn't believe that it was actually letting me. I hadn't even added anything on top of just the shampoo and conditioner; it stayed mostly detangled on its own and if it did tangle (it's too long not to), finger detangling was a breeze. I think my hair likes the aloe vera (it was the only ingredient in the product line that I HADN'T tried on my hair). I ended up buying the curl smoothie for frizz control and I alternate that with the Shea Moisture Frizz Mousse; my hair does well with both.
Disclaimer: I'm wavy, not curly, so take my praise with a grain of salt if you're in the 3-4 hair range. But if you know your hair likes aloe vera, then you should consider giving this line a try. It all smells great, even the vanilla and coconut products (I usually really hate the smell of both), and you can find them pretty much anywhere now.

I've used the pink shampoo and conditioner that says heal and hydrate for dry damaged hair. What kept me hooked on it is how shiny it made my hair compared to what it used to be.

I loveee the maui curl smoothie WAYY MORE than the shea moisture enhancing one. Maui is my go to, then shea moisture.
i use maui (the hibiscus one btw) and i have thick straight hair and the fact that it works well with curly hair too amazes me. i'm definitely gonna make sure i get some for my sister on her wash days

I'm kinda sensitive to smells and I bought the coconut milk one because she said it has a 'light smell'.....it doesnt. It's very overwhelming...doesn't really smell coconut-y or tropical to me just...a vague overwhelming smell, the vanilla bean one I got is way better though so if you're sensitive to smells or prone to headaches from smells stay clear of the coconut milk one 😅😅😅
I also have the curl smoothie which has a very fresh...actually pretty light scent I honestly didnt think I would like it much but it's really nice and the texture is really good too

i’ve used the smoothie about three times. i didn’t think i used too much, but, it left my hair feeling very greasy. i have very high porosity, so i was so surprised that it didn’t do me any good. also, it definitely did not work for my friz!!!! not at all. however, after sleeping the same night, when i woke up my curls were so defined! not sure how i feel about this product yet but this video definitely makes me want to try again!

Hi Bianca, I'm thinking of trying out Maui products for the first time. As my curl pattern is quite similar to yours I'm just wondering why you opted for the blue line for shampoo and conditioner as opposed to the orange line for curly hair? Have you tried the orange line before? which worked best for your hair type? (I could experiment and just try them both, but they're quite expensive in Germany >.< )

Good comparison to the Cantu on the cream.... I agree having used both of them. :) They have a 50% more same price going right now on end bases at the store. Can't beat that.!
