No! You do not speak on behalf of Zambia. All the slaves who came from Zambia were sent to Zanzibar by the Arabs who caught them; and sold them, thereat, to other Arabs from the Middle East. The black Americans are derived from slaves who were sold from Gambia. Why does Zambia need to apologise for the sins of Gambia? Peaceful people like the Tonga, Ila, Soli, We, who are the original Zambians, never attacked a single person in their existence, much less enslave or sell anyone into slavery. Why should they be apologising when they have their own problems, such as having historically been attacked and robbed of cattle and women by the Lozi/Sotho-Kololo from the West, the Bemba from the North, Ngoni/Chewa from the East and the Ndebele from the South? Of Iamda does not owe an apology its people should make it clear that they beat no culpability as a nation. Before silence is taken as consent and Musrvenis gesture results in Uganda getting drfrauded.
It brings sad memories to hear. This has brought it in a different dimension that our ancestral leaders played a role it it. They could have done it out of fear and ignorance not to mention tribal wars brought about by the invenders. I was just listening to Arab Trans-Sarara Slave trade which went on for 1300 yearscompared to Trans-Atlantic one which lasted for 400 years. The apology from the President is a good gesture from our generation as it could have been any of us. I have mate Afro-American in the US and Canada who have at so many occasions shared admiration for the Motherland.
Not only did the Arabic slave trade go on for 1000 years longer than the Trans Atlantic one, but most of the enslaved Africans who were captured do not even have descendants to speak out for them today because there was a systemic genocide via castrating the males and killing any children born to the women who were raped. The remaining descendants scattered throughout India/Pakistan and some places in Arabia have been left out of mainstream society - they are not educated and do not have the means to be online and interact with the rest of us. Thank you for mentioning them. I'm from East Africa and I always try to speak for them whenever I can. Asante (thank you).
It was done out of conquest for power, politics, and wealth. Not fear and ignorance. Vast empires were built upon it. Tribal conflicts and wars happened before outsiders arrived. Not brought about by them. Millions more died trekking across the desert than crossed the seas. The strongest made it, only to suffer, either way. Hearing this man make this apology brought tears. He meant it.

No!!!! Zambia is NOT apologising to anyone.. You can apologise alone if you want to, but Zambia is NOT apologising. Museveni DOES NOT speak for Zambia

TRUE, AFRICAN EMPIRES THOUSANDS OF YEARS BEFORE ROMAN AND EUROPEAN EXISTED HAD MANY TYPES OF HUMAN SLAVES THEY CONQUERED. AFRCICAN AND ARABS WERE IN THE SLAVE TRADE.
