In today's video, you'll learn how to fix a hissing radiator and remove, prepare and install a steam radiator valve. All you will need is a new valve and some hands to get the job done. The valve used in this video is the Vent-Rite Air Vent Valve 1/8" and replaces the Dole #1A and Hoffman #1A vents.

I install but when i make 6 or 8 the higher no then steam come out is it normal.

Not sure why a steam vent would be installed on a steam rad? Wouldn’t this just leak steam?

no, reason is to remove the air.. if air cannot get out steam cannot get in... make sense??

​@@chrisc9389We just moved into a place with steam radiator heat and two of the radiators hiss very loudly when on for more than 10 minutes. I've looked everywhere online and all videos talk about banging radiators but can't find one on hissing.
Do you think it's the valve causing the hissing?

Mine hiss. It’s the steam in our case
