I walked into the local t-mobile store last Friday. Said I wanted the Gateway Home internet. Saleperson goes to the back, pulls a kit and sets it up in about 15 minutes. Brought it home and plugged it in. Connected my ethernet cable and reset the entire house to the new system. NO fee for the gateway router, I have 2 weeks to "try it out", then it's $50/month with no contract or caps. I'm in rural PA so all services are weak, but I'm still pulling 70ms ping, 40meg down and 4meg up. This is 12x faster than what Centurylink could provide me for $150/month.
Deff going to metro tomorrow. Optimum stared charging me $60/mo now it’s being a year they trynna charge me $85/mo just for wifi (that’s is not even that good) tbh🙄
I have this metro PCs device 8 months ago and I so very happy, never had any problem, I paid $50.00 a month, before I have spectrum internet and I paid $80.00 a month and they raise the monthly amount all the time.....I left spectrum and I so happy now .... try it......😊😊😊
I live in Douglasville Ga and I love this service....getting 4 bars and sometimes over 400 MBS I have a timer that reboots every 24 hrs. NO problems other than accessing the router thru the app does not work much of the time nor does logging in via ip address...otherwise great service. I switched from comcast and never want to go back.
I got the 5g internet yesterday and it was a little harder to setup than I would have liked. the passwords were so tiny I needed a magnifier glass to see them and holding the router while typing with the glass on my eye was a hassle but I did it. I connected two wired devices and two laptops in no time. I like it so far. My desktop Linux Mint is getting speeds over 400 mps and that's impressive. 5 star!
Just got me one and this is way faster then the internet in my house in your can take this box anywhere T-Mobile don’t want you to know that but your can do anywhere with it
Curious do you think its possible to set this up in a car with an inverter? Im trying to figure out how to get wifi in my car without hotspots…i don’t want a data cap
Did you ever figure out if this is portable? Can you use this in your car and while driving? If so, how would you go about connecting it to your car properly? Would a car charger work with it?
I just got it it doesn’t work for me what’s so ever wasted 150 on a box that cuts off for the whole day rarely very rarely comes back up like for 10 minutes
My question is, does it have to stay connected to your phone for it to continue working or the app is to just set it up and can leave your house with your phone and it still work?
Dude it's so bad I get less than 10 Mbps and sometimes 0 upload. Gaming you get like 150 ping. What a waste. I have had it for 4 months. It's been so bad It can barely watch HD videos. It says I have great signal all full bars. But it deprioritizes you. So no matter what you have slow service. Then a few days before your bill is due all of a sudden your signal gets better and is usable.
Honestly it ain't bad but God damn the sluggishness of the reset on billing period is killing me, anyway I use it for my Xbox and speed actually pretty good outside of some the game lags because developer issues (Star trek online) I have no major connection issues
Do I disconnect my current xfinity router to install this new kit? may sound lame but im not tech at all...I want it to work as xfinity is price is killing me...just curious where does the ethernet cable go??
So you would buy a box from metro by tmobile store This box will do internet and Wi-Fi U will activate box with T-Mobile internet app and then all ur devices sign in on Wi-Fi This box just needs power and app to work

@@iamsean92 Look at it this way. Once you pay Metro the $55 up-front, you paid for the device and you own it for life. That is $55 for the device and the first month service. Now the actually T Mobile store purchase... You have to run a credit check and pay for a deposit up to $300 and sign a contract. If you break the contract, like everyone else, you owe and they want their equipment back or you will owe more. Now. How FREE.99 dose Metro sound now? If you ask me Metro is giving it away compared to T Moble and to be honest with you, they may be making more money on service through their Metro subiuary because most people just don't do contracts like how we were forced to do with all major carriers from the late 90s through 2005. Metro started off with their ups and downs, mostly downs back then, but grew into a reliable company. Then T Moble saw their potential and acquired them.

Yes, Metro website said it wasn't available aty address, the sales rep at the store in the next town sold it to me and we haven't had any issues using 6 devices at once.

It was so easy to do.I went to the store and asked for the internet the were offering. They will set it up for you.The thing is they have to check your address to see if it is compatible in my area. Then they will do everything for you.I just went to my house and plugged it in and it worked.I liked it no cords to deal with. All for just 55 a month and you can get that internet for 30 dollars off if you get food stamps or other government benefits.
