Little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Game theory does not apply here. MAD concept only applies to Russia and USA which are large countries. Countries like Pakistan can be totally destroyed by India's first attack. Small countries with nuclear weapons cannot use nuclear deterrence. Even for countries like Russia MAD does not apply that well because it lacks credible 2nd strike capability. This is why Russia is fighting in Ukraine.

In 2006-2007 at the end of Musharaf era Pak had around 600 warheads some reports even claimed that Pakistan has the fastest growing nuclear arsenal and coz of tactical nukes no one was even criticizing it. Now Pak have more better technologies to deliver those warheads as Pak already have MIRVs in Ababeel Missile so any miscalculation can result in nuclear winter and that will not end with just the strikes and their immediate impact but radiation and famine. And that means no one will be able to enjoy a victory.

  • @GururajBN
    @GururajBN 2 года назад +33

A fine and sober analysis. Many thanks. The accidental launch of BrahMos is a big embarrassment for India. It is positioning itself as an exporter of arms, especially missiles. It has entered into contract for supplying BrahMos to Philipines, and is negotiating similar contracts with Vietnam and a few SE nations. This kind of accident will cast serious doubt on the reliability of India's defence products. India should do a lot more to assuage the misgivings in the minds of these nations. India is being mocked at. I feel bad about it.
When 1998 nuclear test was done, Western press mocked India as nuclear boys, and pointed out that nuclear men have systems for delivering nuclear wapons, which India did not have. During the last two decades, India has developed and manufactured large varieties of missiles. Probably, between the USSR and the US many more such accidents have happened. That is no consolation. They were geographically far apart, which gave some time for analysis of situation. Between India and Pakistant, the time available will be a matter of minutes for deciding whether some such similar event is an accident, or false alarm, or indeed an attack. Far greater caution is required in the matter.

    1. What Pakistan Got from missile in their land ?
    a. Don’t have to take sides anymore of Ukraine or Russia . Easily they will abscond that and will say they themselves are under attack .
    b. It might save Imran Khan projecting himself a strong leader and his country under attack
    2. What China Got ?
    a. Lot of questions about their defence capabilities.
    3. What ASEAN got ?
    a. A dependable missile that can attack precisely.
    4. What India got ?
    a. New buyers from ASEAN
    b. Understanding that Chinese defence is weak.

Answer 1) no, any missile carrying nukes no. Even for USA, RUSSIA AND CHINA missile
      2) I can't say why. Only Pakistan military but most probably they couldn't detect because lest assume a missile is coming towards india and if it shows in radar then we destroyed it we will not wait and see if it carry war head or not.
      3) Pakistan don't know how to say in public because they couldn't destroyed it so it raises questions on defence system ( my perspective again only Pakistan military can answer).
      4) No. But Pakistan has capabilities just like AMERICAN Tomahawk missile Pm nawaj accepted publicly that Pakistan military got a missile which didn't explode and they reverse engineered. But they need Brahmos missile in good condition but this missile blasted and no Engineer in world can reverse engineered in this situation. So they can't reverse. We don't need to worry.

I find it strange that Pak said there were tracking it since it's launch in India, but was there an attempt to intercept it whether through SAM or by trying to shoot it down using ATA missiles?, it's weird that for a long time they said did not know what it was and after many hours it was reveled that it was a supersonic missile that went a hundred or so odd kms into Pak, which might explain the lack of some panic, if India had informed them using hotline they would've known and tried to intercept it. no idea what to make of this, if there is issues with the missile system this needs to be rectified ASAP.

Who would be held responsible for the nuclear holocaust had Pakistan fired a nuclear war head ? We call ourselves a responsible nuclear nation. How can a Brahmos missile be launched without protocol and checks? Also it lands in a neighbouring nuclear country with whom we have a history of wars. And whose Air defense system has just a minute to decide wether the incoming missile is nuclear powered. And the had they launched their nuclear missile because they have reserved the right to first use of nuclear war. How utterly irresponsible and shameful when there are such high stakes.

To my mind it is really an accidental launch for three reasons
    1. Prior to launching a missile the country needs to issue a NOTAM (notice to air missions) to ensure that no civilian aircraft is in that region because if it gets hit by the same it would result in huge casualties and as we know 7:00pm is a peak hour for air traffic in both the countries so why would India take such a heavy risk..it's only when you do it accidentally
    2. There were chances of that missile hitting many high value targets in the region which could have led to retaliation from the Pakistani side and hence escalate into a conflict.
    3. No country wants their adversary to be able to reverse engineer their missile technology so they keep their precious missiles incognito unless needed in a war
And plz note that India tests it's missiles in the Bay of Bengal region i e on the east coast not in a heavily inhabited sirsa region. Plus there are heavily militarized international borders in that region. So only a fool would test missile there.
So these reasons suggest that what happened was purely unintentional and a mistake. There's no hidden agendas behind it.
