great scent, but it's not a blue fragrance at all like people say. It's a creamy lavender, almost like tonka & lavender combo. It's fresh and sweet, but not blue. However it's a scent I didn't like at first either then after smelling it a few times that creamy lavender is addictive. I usually hate lavender and this is the fragrance that made me love it
@@envir9062 I got abt 7-8 hours. Wore it to work and was still able to pick it up at the end of the day but it was faint by then. Might be better in the heat or with humidity but perfectly fine for the work day

My wife has smelt Naxos, DHI, Ombre Leather etc.. yet she is obsessed with Eros. As a collector, I find it expendable, but it’s by FAR gotten me the most compliments from women. MB Explorer close second

@@trogdorburninator1229 Sedley is amazing. But try Percival. It sits somewhere between Sedley and Layton. Dont get me wrong, they dont smell similar or so, but Percival has a little more body than Sedley and also works very well in hot weather.

I would personally add Rasasi Hawas to this list. I personally love it, it's a projection monster and a huge compliment puller, but if you mention it in most fragrance groups it gets a lot of hate. I've personally gotten so many compliments from its it's crazy.
I bought Gucci Guilty Black back in 2014 while I was deployed in Afghanistan. I didn’t know anything about fragrances and just liked how it smelled. So cool to see it on this list. I’ll definitely be picking up a bottle to reminisce.
Haha, at work or in public, people have always got pumped up when I wear BDC or the Sauvage EDP, and they might seem basic but all the normal people out there love them. Moustache and Layton too.
I don't care for Phantom but I was okay with it's existence because I also didn't like Invictus but I really liked some of the flankers. I'm hoping the same thing happens with the Phantom line. As for Ralph's Club, I don't hate it, but the Parfum is so, so much better than I feel like it's made redundant.
Incase you aren't aware, Paul Smith London was re-released in an edp concentration. I think it's very very close to the original and has exceptional performance.
I will ALWAYS love Sauvage EDT. I have tested all the flankers, as well as around 30 niche alternatives. Nothing is as clear, clean, loved and versatile as Sauvage EDT. The only, ONLY cons is that is too popular, but that is something I really don't care....
I actually love born in roma!! I have a 30+ frag collection and love the spicy sour watermelon vibe it gives off of my skin! It makes my jowls tingle when I get a whiff and it lasts forever with great projection!! One of my favorites!!
You can add anything from Fragrance One on that list. Fragrantica snobs absolutely destroyed the ratings on Office, Date and Black Tie. Yet they’re seriously mass appealing fragrances that the general public really enjoy.
The problem with the Jeremy Fragrance brand, and why it ultimately failed, wasn't the scent profiles per se. It was the fact he was charging niche prices for his frags when the scent profiles didn't justify the price. Had he been more fair in his pricing his brand would be going strong and even his loyal fanboys had a hard time backing him on that. Just saying, dude just wanted money 🤷♂️

Phantom and Eros, yeah. Phantom will assimilate you and Eros is actually a masterpiece. I don't know what it is about the house of Paco Rabanne, but they always find a way to make artificial appealing, fun, and enjoyable to wear. At first I found Eros cloying. It's simply beast mode and a little goes a long way. It's surprisingly versatile. The EdP is perfection.
Phantom probably gets a lot of hate for the bottle, but the scent isn't bad at all, and people generally seem to like it enough to give random compliments
I never hear mentioned but Valantino Uomo the OG is my favorite among all the flankers. The coffee note and chocolate are perfect (and are not in the flankers) and not too much gourmand (I don't like my frags to smell to much like food).
I have never hated eros I think it's actually got some depth in there and it's pretty unique for a fragrance that has the blue bottle also montabaco Verano killer absolute killer
It’s a solid fragrance for the summer. I think if I was still clubbing and associated it with that I might feel different. But since I don’t I feel like it’s just a great, durable summer scent.

I find it hard to imagine anyone buying a bottle of PR Phantom voluntarily. I found the the bottle less worse than the smell. It's diabetes. I tried YSL Homme Parfum and thought it was gorgeous. Haven't bought it yet, because there are other more interesting things out there. It will get its turn. Next year, or the year after. I like mint, apple and lemon, especially in cooking. I like Versace. Sedley is very nice. I can imagine people finding it too floral. I find people who hate stuff because a lot of people like something to be posing wannabe's. People who want to be unique and different and complimented for that the whole time and the whole time they are pretty much the same as everyone else.
Won’t be too much longer before no fragrance house is allowed to use real ambergris, or it will just be too costly to use in a mass produced fragrance. Everyone will be forced to use Ambroxan. Same as Moss and Musk and Civet etc. . Fragrance industry will inevitably become more “ artificial “ . Fragrance is “subjective” and that word is usually lost on some. Those who call themselves “fragrances aficionados, enthusiasts,” and whatever other names they like to go by are the main ones who let everyone know how much the dislike a fragrance while “normal” 😂people just don’t purchase what they don’t like.
I love it, but I can get that it's not a complex fragrance deserving of hype. Question is how much depth and complexity do you think most fresh/aquatics will have from one another? Not a lot of variety in the warmer months when talking scent dna's tbh

PdM literally saves all of it's effort for fall/winter just like every other house, which is fine, but my point is spring/summer usually lack depth in general which is why the topic is kind of funny. Ralph’s Club has an absolutely killer dry-down. I’ve used up my 10ml travel size and ready to buy a full bottle.

I am one of those plebian that loved phantom for the bottle. The fragrance grew on me but i am still not in love with it.
