Hi do you know how to get or bypass the radio code on a 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero. I can hold down the on button and radio and it will come on but the sound goes from speaker to speaker.
No problem! I agree, but I made this video for quick posting to forums, where the top question is always "what does this light mean?" So, skip the intro if you already know 😉
The only way to fix that is with a Tech2. The radio needs to be re-married to the car, which happens when losing power / changing a battery / etc. Our Saabs are getting so old the internal batteries in the radio are failing, so the radio loses its memory of being married to the car everytime power is interrupted. It's an anti-theft thing that 20yrs later is becoming an issue (my 9-5 does it too). Finding someone with a Tech2 is the only way to get music back; I purchased one specifically for this issue.
@@scottbeaudreault5201 weird. Telephone means it's wired for car phone. Have you tried double tapping the CD button? I'll have to look and see how to select out of Telephone Mode, but if you replaced the battery the radio itself may need a Tech2 remarry
@@vidalchdr0437 Easy. Open up the fuse panel on the drivers side dash and remove fuse #15 using the white, provided tool inside. It's the 20amp fuse labeled "Daytime Light." With that out, your switch will work like normal.
Try again! Press Clear once to hide the message. Then, hold Clear again, and keep holding past "Cleared" until it says "Service". You gotta hold for about 15 seconds or so, and do so from a blank screen thats showing normal time, temperature, radio station etc and not while its displaying Time for Service
Thank you very much for the video. SAAB is a durable and reliable car. My SAAB 900SE is still driving well arter 26 years of use.
Many thanks so simple thanks from Gothenburg in Sweden 👍🏻

You need to find a Saab tech with an old GM tech 2 programmer. It will happen again any time you disconnect the battery
Thanks worked for my 900
To long introduction but thanks for help 😊

Or hold the clr button on the steering wheel on older models.
What's it mean when your radio display reads telephone?
Changed the battery and now the radio doesn't work and reads telephone *

Can I just put in an aftermarket radio or would that be locked out as well?
How do I get my lights to turn off Is that something that I have to do with the chip
I have a 2003 9-3 convertible but it's the '99 to '02 style.
The headlights?
Yes

You are the Man!
My car would not clear unless the brake was applied.
That didn’t work, I have a Saab 95
