I’m positive the Genesis locomotives in this video are leased to the New Haven Railroad, so it’s their fault that they are in such crummy Condition. Amtrak most likely won’t be fully phasing out their Genesis’ locomotives for another 2-3 years.
All non-Amtrak diesels have to be able to use third rail to get into Grand Central just like the regular electrics. The switch over occurs in Pelham even though the third rails begin in New Rochelle. Some diesels only have third rail and not overhead capability.
That's my station. Take the train every morning to Grand Central. Those M8s.
the announcement voice gives me ptsd from when I was a kid traveling with my parents, constantly worried that we were going to miss our train.
They really need to repaint those P40DC's they're in sad shape
Agreed!
@Commuter Rail 700 gp40-3h. They were all rebuilt after 6696 suffered a turbocharger failure
I love metro North
I was there the same day you were i took the ferry from Port Jeff to bridgeport and fanned from the boat, but i got there a little later than you did.
11:39 I recorded that shore line east train today too! And it was at Norton Heights Fan Railer!
Fan Railer, is this station located in down town, Bridgeport?
3:08 If you look in the window before the door, you can see the blonde woman waving at the camera. It's always the little things. :)
Home sweet home Connecticut #ConnecticutRailBois
I’m surprise that Amtrak lets Connecticut DOT use their locomotives for their cars
Super video!
Sweet invite bro
GOOD STUFF!! 🚂 🚊 🚞
I was here before this is part of the Northeast Corridor
Nice video! Great😊
Amazing to me and beautiful 💯
What are the bridge things for

What city is this?
Read the title again.
When is SLE Going to start using the ex njt p40s because I thought that SLE Train had a ex njt p40
The SLE Wiki says that they are undergoing overhaul, but they may be finished and just sitting.
Angela Tollens not back from rehab as of yet. A lot of us have been wanting to see the finished product but so far it’s all been hush hush
The real question is, will they ever paint those P40DC locomotives on the SLE?
Nice! I get that Amtrak is going to get the Chargers soon but don't make you Genesis locomotives look all beat up.

The New Haven railroad doesn't even exist anymore.
Those genesis locomotives were run by Shoreline East. They now operate the M8’s in passenger service.
That looks like a Japanese engine
👍👍👍
Excuse you but that train can get energy from the cables and third rail!?
What are the odds!!
@Calvin Feng between each axel theres a lil hand sticking out. That way the train can utilize both options depending on line it's running.
