As soon as the Ra player defeated his rival's army, he should had advanced to the next age and pushed aggresively with siege and migdol units. He had nothing more to do staying in the second age.
Some walls would have saved him against raids in lategame. Also failed to establish the market caravan... must have in late game. He just focussed too much on the front line...
As much as I love the Laser Gators, 3D!Bee really should have gone for Sekhmet to buff his existing barracks comp and get some siege, and to expand and get bonus pop space with the Citadel. He needed to keep up the pressure, and I don't think Sobek was a good match for his strategy.
Locust is HORRIBLE. They should give it back its anti villager mechanic, maybe it can make villagers uncontrollable so you use it and for those seconds your enemy cant control his villagers they just run away from the locust.
That kind of play is just beneficial for the viking player. Feeding him easy favor. Go for harrass early mid, and end with migdol units. Keep the viking busy chasing your harassing parties while denying him any real favor for upgrades, units etc.
Egyptian is so weak in Retold. Counter units being hilarious strong makes migdol units unplayable so you have to make barracks units, which are also hilariously weak and thus unplayable. There's not a whole lot you can do.
16:25 Probably the best example right now of exactly what's wrong with Egyptians - there's no way with a 20-unit advantage that Egypt should have lost that engagement.
I feel like it's definitely Set. Ra's eco honestly isn't that much better than Set and the 5% speed boost and discounts on Barracks units lends itself really well to Barracks spam.
Yeah but sadly the seth boost doesn t stack and from what I remember it was only the cost that s affected, not the speed of production ? But the speed boost on units is big !
@FitzBro So I'm no Ra expert but if he does need a buff I have a thought. What if Rain was a large aoe that could cover roughly your view area with the added benefit of slightly debuffing enemy movement and attack speed? The debuff could be small, just enough to curb an edge the enemy might have in a battle or act as a deterrent to attacking your base while used on your farms. It would probably need to have a higher recast cost but it would offer a bunch of extra utility to his defining god power.
That's really not a good enough use-case for a Heroic Age spell. You're using two whole GP's just to get a very temporary edge on farming - the slowest Food gathering method in the game.
I would like to see locust be buffed by either allowing the distance to be controlled (make the travel distance either really short [almost in-place like it was in the original] or really long) or make the cost to reuse it less. 50 favor for reuse is brutal.
Nice to see Wadjet do something. They need to rework it a bit at the very least. I think an issue with them is micro nerfs their effectiveness but not microing nerfs overall effectiveness, either way they still lose. You micro them to target down enemies since they're ranged so you expect single unit shred, but cause of its poison gimmick, their actual ranged damage is low and inadequate. Ideally they each target a different unit so poison is on everybody but it's not so low DPS overall. If you don't micro and leave them free reign, it doesn't work well with the rest of your army since they need meat shields.
Well put. I'm a new RTS player and love Ra and would love to learn how to use Wadjets. Do you reccomend loose formation & attack move? I imagine loose formation increases the probability each unit targets a unique enemy unit (further distances). Curious to hear your thoughts my bro :)
@@mikebasketball11 I recommend what Bee did in the video, just have 1 in the backline and micro it individually against different units. Wouldn't recommend investing in them, not cost efficient. If you really want to play with a group of them, for sure attack move but they should be in their own group separate from the main army. Micro is sort of pointless since Wadjets are big, slow and clunky making the shoot and move/reload not work. Wouldn't recommend loose formation since they already get wrecked by narrow corridors with their model making it more likely for them to get stuck. I would try a raid gimmick where you just send Wadjets to hit and run villagers. Let poison do its job and try to be distracting. Don't bother staying and going for the kill unless they've been whittled down enough to guarantee the kill or you have supporting units nearby. Other than that, they can defend decently against early raids since they have a multiplier toward myth units which are common raiders of choice. Truth be told, I don't actually play the game, I've just been watching a lot since retold came out so take what I said with a grain of salt.
@@mikebasketball11 I play ra a fair amount, not amazingly mind you, but generally wadjets are very good for defending things like an outside of base gold mine, or your 2nd TC construction. They do massive damage and at that stage of the game you can micro them onto individual units without too much brain tax. The reason bee went for them later on in this game (as far as i can tell) is that he was using all his food and gold on barracks units and had a surplus of wood and favour. So in conclusion, dont make more wadjets unless you are either in the same position (only able to spend wood and favour) or if you want to hang out in classical and need extra protection on the other gold mines.

Personally I prefer Set. He's good at early aggression and harassment while also booming behind it. To bad they removed the Khopesh swordsman. Egyptians really don't have any good raiding units aside from anubites and sphinx early on. As Set I would use my priests to steal enemy hunts.
3DBee stop being a noob, put your priest on no attack stance you would of still been in his base killing units if you did around the 19 minute matrk, you had over 5 priest! Turn on no attack stance and autoqueue the heal, if you forget to autoqueue heal it wont work. Also if you made some war elephants with your army comp hirdmen is a expensive counter unit they will most likely opt into.
Yoooo fiiitz! I know you also struggle with this. You can flip teams with Alt-T under the spectator hotkeys you can find the option

As soon as the Ra player defeated his rival's army, he should had advanced to the next age and pushed aggresively with siege and migdol units. He had nothing more to do staying in the second age.

Microsoft really buffed the hell out of norse with new units and greek with stronger MUs. Eggy got nerfs and nothing new aside from valley of kings.
we kind of missed the second tc going down to the spider forest, but all good

Rain slows enemy cavalries while boosting your farm sounds cool 👌🏻
It was the walking woods at the end that killed the tc. That sealed the deal
Locusts actually have a good place when playing ra. I send my roc over to their base and destroy the opponents farms right before I use rain
