One of my favourite bands and songs ever! Saw them live in 1969 at the Hollywood Festival. Phenomenal Chris Farlowe, Jon Hiseman, Clem Clempson, Mark Clark, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Dave Greenslade!
Condivido.Un brano spettacolare. Non monotono e sempre sorprendente fino all'ultima nota. Erano 20 anni che non lo riascoltavo ma ricordo che ai tempi, mi entrò nel mio DNA musicale prepotentemente. Bello.
i was one of the lucky ones to see them on the farewell tour..........to see clem clempson blister through Lost angeles at breakneck speed just like he did just over 50 yrs ago was unsurpassable
Singer Chris Farlow is born in 1940 !!! I've always thought there were odd things about his style, performances and appearance but this piece of data all of a sudden put all of it in the right light and it all makes sense to me now. And he is now a great singer in my little mind! :) And Clem Clemson !!! That's some serious guitaring!!! :D Damn, Colosseum and Colosseum II deserves a place in rock history!!!
At his age, he'd probably have drawn a large influence from Ray Charles - and indeed, he sounds a bit like Brother Ray after about ten cups of coffee. I think he just loves singing too much to not overdo it, and as long as you can accept that, he's fine.
That Hammond Organ is on Fire ! Wow :) I have a Stage Model X-5 with Leslie 760 ! Guess after 30 years playing. i have more to learn ! Amazing ! Thank You for the Vid ! :) XO
Grazie fratelli
I'm confused here. Who is this band, what is their song, where did they perform and when? I'm not familiar with them at all.....but I take a listen and I like what I hear. Jazz fusion rock?
This is Colosseum, which played a blend of jazz and prog rock. Not fusion as we know it today, still a lot of jazz in their style. They were formed in the 60's. Check out the Valentyne Suite album.
If someone…anyone…at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had a pulse, these guys would’ve been nominated and inducted 15-20 years ago. But nope. Just ignore great bands like this.
One of the best songs ever written and played !!!!!!
Chris Farlowe is 80 years old this year....... Colosseum were a fantastic outfit....
I can't believe that I listened to them so often I took for granted what is still music I can lie back on a pillow with headphones and be transported

He looks very young for being born in 1940 I think
check out his early 60's beat stuff...then check out his appearance in atomic rooster!
At his age, he'd probably have drawn a large influence from Ray Charles - and indeed, he sounds a bit like Brother Ray after about ten cups of coffee. I think he just loves singing too much to not overdo it, and as long as you can accept that, he's fine.
