- Hi Guys,
Thanks for watching this video, I would really appreciate it if you could leave a like and consider subscribing as we continue to grow together.
In today's video my mum gave me permission to work on her 1.4l VW Polo. The reason being, the engine isn't quite running smooth, so I embarked on the challenge to fix her engine and make the car as pristine as possible!

On most German brands you’ll see and arrow on the sill. That’s where you jack from. Usually about 3” inwards. You see a lip that is thicker and that’s the jacking point. If you want to place a jack there lift the front of the car by the subframe where the wishbone mounts.
Ahhh, I didn’t know the sill was around 3’’ inwards, that’s my bad, thank you for letting me know
Painfully to watch, looks like you didn't put it on the pinch weld.
I’m not a mechanic and have no experience so I only learn as I go, I know what I did wrong now and I know how to do it right next time
Chin up Sam everybody makes mistakes and nothing got damaged that's a win in my book👍. Have a great holiday look forward to your next video.
Cheers John, I appreciate that, I’ll learn from it and move on, my holiday is smashing, I’m in Corfu currently, I’ll be home Monday next week 👍
The old pollen filter was a carbon active one, so looks black from new
Oh was it? I never knew that, it was filthy anyway, covered the passenger floor in dirt
@@OfficialSamBryant It could have just been dirty, but I serviced my B7 Passat a few days before and purchased a MANN carbon active one and looked very similar. Keep up the good work with the channel. :)
Could have been both 🤷♂️ thank you mate, I appreciate that!
We live and learn Sam. I bet you won’t make that mistake again!!
I hope your mum went easy on you 😂
We do indeed! I’ve learnt from it now so I won’t do it again 😂
She wasn’t too bothered in fact 😂
I can’t believe I just watched you put the car down on the side skirt and not the actual sill 😭
I’m no mechanic and I’m only learning as I go 🤣 at least I know not to do it again in future 🤦♂️🤣
ya'll don't change spark plugs in the UK??
mate some people dont even change their underwear lol
We do, I just didn’t get round to it 🤣
Quality 😂😂
@@OfficialSamBryant keep it up tho man, it's all progression 💪💯
Bro what.. why put it on the sill?
That’s where the Haynes manual said to hold the up to, am I not supposed to?
@@OfficialSamBryant there's jacking points.. you put it on the wrong spot which is why it was bending.
I followed the manual with the jacking points, I just didn’t place the stand far enough in, it was on the skirt not the structure of the car
@@OfficialSamBryant fair enough, you have to learn I guess.. but yeah there's pinch points for a reason on both the jack stand and the car which line up to avoid this.
Ahhh I’m with you, when I’m back from holiday I need to finish working on mums car so I’ll make sure to not make the mistake again 😂😂
Clueless
wont learn if you never try , and he probably knows more than 90% of people🤷♂
I am, got no experience but I’ll give it a go and learn from it, no harm in that🤷♂️
I appreciate you mate
