- This video is not meant to be a representation of everyone's experience in the healthcare administration job market. Some people graduate and get a mid to high level position right away, while for others it may not be as easy! This is for everyone who has had a more difficult time finding a job, can't seem to figure out what is wrong, and just needs to know where to START.
Enjoy this video, homegirl ♡

Cheese grater tip: You place it down (holding handle) and let it build up inside as your grate
Hey Aniyah , it’s me again , I’ve been watching your RUclips channel since gaining my bachelors degree in health administration. I have been interested in all of the revenue cycle roles , and HIM roles , but it’s so many certifications that some of these jobs require , so I’m struggling through if I need to get RHIT certified , or billing and coding certified , it’s so much information that are needing in these role , & I know I’m not the only one that gets anxiety with where to start with this career ! I am also career driven & sometimes it gets so overwhelming.
Hey girl I’m currently in school for health services administration and I pray and I hope you get a job
Hey Breaunna, girl I feel you 100%! With the way these job markets are now I definitely would say those extra certifications are gonna be necessary.
For the HIM roles, RHIT or RHIA would be great! You could start off in a medical records role while you obtain your certs and pivot/advance into a mid-level role after. For revenue cycle roles there are couple different certs you could do depending on what part of the revenue cycle you want to work in. Even I am having to go out and get more certifications because it is just so competitive and overwhelming for sure.
Im RHIT, you just need a Associates in HIM, then you choose but I suggest becoming a Cancer Registrar!!! They are paid more! Also you can work in it as a coordinator
What does a cancer registrar do. I am currently studying for my CPC exam with AAPC then I will take my classes online for my BS in Healthcare administration, Healthcare Information, or Healthcare Management. I was a Pharmacy Technician for 25 years, but I am older now so I am just going for it. Thanks for your information. I just saw your channel and I subscribe right away
@@ginagardner1616What would be the exact position title to look for a job as a coordinator?
What a great video!!❤ I’m glad to see more videos about this field. I don’t have any healthcare experience but next Monday I’ll be starting school for medical coding and once I take my exam and earn my CCA then the CCS I’ll get my associates degree and earn my RHIT. I also applied for a prn HIM assoc I position recently so I hope I get that to gain some experience while I’m in school. I know I might be doing things the long way but it’s the best way for me.😊
Get an MPH. It’s more realistic opportunities. Working your way up to management would need a clinical degree like RN, PA,MD , regulatory etc . Most of these management are those type of folks with those degrees in addition to an mph or MHA. They usually don’t give those opportunities to anyone without medical or clinical experience in their field. Most times it’s RN with MSN , MBA , MHA or MD with MPH or MBA. Say you were an RN for a year or two and you acquired an MHA or MSN/ MS. You can be a unit manager or hospital administrator or even DON in a LTC n hit those 140-190k numbers. Might even be a director of something in health care and hit 200k up same as MDs. Get an MPH be an epidemiologist or biostatistician or mph with health informatics to be a data analyst or community or environmental or even regulatory writing that’s 6figure. If you wanna be in health management without a clinical degree go for an MBA , PMP instead of MHA and it’s shoot you to the financial management top for health management, insurance, project management healthcare or pharmaceutical and marketing, grant management etc. I think it also makes you more marketable beyond the healthcare industry. Also think a bachelors in public health is better opportunities than bachelors in HA . BS public health u get good jobs at BS level than HA which would need a masters to find good and well paid jobs in that challenging job seeking field
Not sure if I’ll get an answer but worth a shot. So for someone who has a BS in Psychology, later on decided on a career change, zero healthcare experience but interested in the admin side. Would you still recommend to go back for a BS in Public Health, go back for an associates in Health Admin, or go for a Master’s? Thank you in advance if so happen to respond.
Masters
I really love your channel. It gives some clarity where I be able to apply as a student’s or undergraduate
This video definitely helped. Thank you for this information!
Your videos have been so helpful. I am transitioning from tech to healthcare as I was sucked into the tech industry. Its so volatile I really missed the realm of healthcare which was what I majored in and initially wanted to do. Theres not many videos about how to approach this type of work so your advice is great for me.
Yay! I hope your transition goes well!🥰
Very good video. On February 18, 25th, I will receive my bachelor's degree in healthcare administration. I'm now an Accounts Receviable Rep, but I'm looking into my choices for once I graduate, and this video is helping me figure out where to start. Thank you ❤
this is such a helpful video for me, i was just so confused as an immigrant with a masters in health information technology, thank you
But I still am not sure how to get started with an entry level position as they still ask for exp in the USA health industry, this doesn't make any sense to me sometimes
Thank you! You were very informative!
HI I'm a college student currently majoring in Biology and I've been thinking about changing my major, I've been interested in Healthcare administration but I never really knew exactly what people did in that field. I'm really leaning towards Healthcare Info management or Patient Services. This was extremely helpful thank you!!
Idk what u use or how u use it but your skin is flawless and glowing! 😍
Thank you so much!! I use UrbanSkinRX, CeraVe and Fenty Skin!
@@aniyah_nashee you're welcome and thank u so much for sharing! 😊
Can you do a video on Project Management in the Hospital. I do revenue cycle at the moment.
Thank you for this
Hey girl how you been and thank you for this video I’m trying to to get a job next year at the hospital so I can have something on my resume wait you can do medical billing coding with health services administration girl I took a class on coding and I love the coding so much so should I go get a certificate in medical billing coding and what you do girl with health care administration?? I need come to your house and get them leftover thanksgiving food lol 😂 😂 I will think about revenue cycle management cause you said work from home home but I want to work in a hospital
Yessss girl you can definitely do that! Get you a medical billing job at the hospital to get something on your resume and while you are working that job go get the medical coding certification! That way by the time you finish with the coding certification you’ll have some experience!! There is so much opportunity for advancement in medical coding and a lot of $$$. I think it’s a great idea!
And somebody need to come get em for real because I made way too much food😭😭
@@aniyah_nashee girl I’m look into medical coding cause I took one class and I really did love it I had my book and I just enjoyed it even my grandma had told me it’s a lot of money in medical billing and coding hmmm I’m have to go get my certificate after I finish my bachelor degree thank you so much for the tip girl cause now I don’t feel like it would not be something out there I can’t do with my degree cause my family had got in my ear and was like no change your major you won’t make a lot of money at all
