Pretty sure you'd want a GoPro to break off if it catches on something so the rider's neck doesn't break. Also pretty sure if you're a rider, you don't want to get hit with a flying go-pro. And yes, Feld/AMA want to control the content. In a couple of years, they'll find a safer solution(in helmet or in-goggle camera), and the riders will be so excited, they'll forfeit their copyright on the footage.

Supercross NEEDS to put GoPros on every rider racing in the night shows and be able to use the live footage for tv. This would be another unique addition to the telecast
Meanwhile, the dictators at MX Sports and Feld continue to ban GoPro cameras during actual races. Yet they wonder why the sport isn't growing in popularity. 🤷♂🤦♂
