I think the reason Drill has received more attention is because it appears to be more communal. As in it is not something my family up north have heard of and it's associations in my mind which are shaped by the media lead me to perceive drill as the gang and clubbing fuel of lower economically developed areas of London. Which means people from the outside looking in see something that stands out and it becomes an easy target. I don't know anyone of any race in the stereotypical upper middle class areas. (Richmond, Wimbledon, Westminster areas.) who hear drill and who don't associate drill with gangs. London has had a massive increase in knife and acid attacks 2014 onwards to 6 times historic levels by 2018 and drill gained attention around the same time 2015 onwards (White, Londoner point of view. Based on media attention.) You were naming a lot of people who are clearly influential artists to you. I've never heard of any of them through Google play music, Spotify, RUclips or other. So it becomes an almost group mentality which aids in targeting which fuels the violence as stigma generates hate. This is further fueled by racists who either openly or low key promote hate.
