    Unfortunately, it appears something odd has occured whilst capturing the AMS2 footage - making it playback at an odd FPS. Rest assured, that is not how AMS2 performed whilst recorded - it was as smooth as silk.
    Apologies, I'm not sure how that made it past me in editting quality control.
    Thanks for pointing it out @babble1975 it's much appreaciated.

    All games are different, imo prefer games to feel different, if they all feel the same, what's the point...ams2 is just plain fun... lmu and iracing along with acc are more serious racing. Ams2 and even pc2 shines when you can create your own online lobbies with ai, your choice of weather along with friends....

      You’re right. That’s so very true. Ultimately, we all have limited time to do what we enjoy - so as long as we enjoy it, that’s all that matters.

    Still not on the level of lmu in terms of ffb/physics but the complete package of AMS2 is very hard to deny.
    Lmu is getting a bit stale because of the lack of content and Im not sure one extra track and some LMGT3s is going to fix that for me and as much as I try, iracing feels even worse.
    Will try DanielKarts FFB file and see how it goes.

      If Reiza could solve that front to rear disconnected feeling (yaw) and the floaty effect - it would be hard to find any fault with AMS2.
      I do wonder if s397 would be able to introduce any different era content via the WEC licence.

      @@MAWvR3ALITYthe words you're looking for are: Slip angle and Tyre load sensitivity. AMS2 1.6 still allows for massive slip angles. Their tyre model is a lot more simplistic even compared to 6 year old ACC, which in fact is still better than LMU or AMS2 1.6. LMU just admitted their tyre model is very wrong in their latest dev blog. AMS2 doesn't simulate surface (skin) temps. It relies solely on tyre core temps, which is unacceptable for any sim in 2024. I suggest you go read some books or watch videos of how tyres ACTUALLY produce grip and you'll see why the floatiness is there.

      @ thanks, I watched someone else’s video last night and also realised slip angle was what I was fumbling over.

    For me personally I have uninstalled Le Mans Ultimate as its not really the game for me. Automobilista 2 is doing everything that I want out of a racing game now. And that is OK. Enjoy what ever game you play. AMS2 is just the best single player racing game with lots of content and lots to do. If AMS2 physics and graphics were like Le Mans Ultimate I wouldn't play it. I liked the GT4 class in AMS2 and once I do a car setup it is fun to play. I agree Le Mans Ultimate has better physics and car handling but I am not having any fun playing it.

    • @MAWvR3ALITY
      @MAWvR3ALITY  8 дней назад

      I can totally appreciate that and, ultimately - that’s the most important thing. If you don’t enjoy it, considering it’s your time, money, and effort - it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
      If AMS2 ticks all of the boxes you need, that’s what makes it the best for you.
      It’s similar to the PC/Console dynamic. One is nice and simple, the other a minefield of minimum requirements.
      How’re you finding the v1.6.3 update - compared to before?

    • @cr3puscul
      @cr3puscul 7 дней назад

      @@MAWvR3ALITYIts great, before the v1.6.3 update it wasn't acceptable, the cars didn't handle like cars. Now with the v1.6.3 update they begin to handle more closely like cars. Le Mans Ultimate has a much more refined and accurate brake simulation but when you have been working a physical job all day, I am just not up to playing a precision simulation with such refinement and accuracy, I'm not up to that, I am way too tired. I don't dispute Le Mans Ultimate has a better driving model. AMS2 is much more forgiving its much easier to just come home after working all day and have fun with it. Great video !

      @@cr3puscul that’s the perfect answer really. I totally respect that and it resonates. A few years ago I’d love getting behind the wheel in iRacing’s GP series; button pushing simulator.
      Now, I’m too tired for that and just want to race GT’s.
      Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them and I hope you keep having fun in AMS2.

    LMU has the best physics but absolutely not my type of content. I love the open wheelers in AMS2. And the name LMU suggest we wont see any type of open wheelers in the game.

      Yeah, I’d say you’re 100% correct. I’d like to see if s397 are able to tap into some of the historic WEC championships, but wouldn’t be surprised to see it stay in this lane, like the F1 dedicated titles.

      @@MAWvR3ALITY I´ve been mainly driving the F1 V10 Gen 2 in AMS2 and was only able to test it for an hour and then had to leave my home for vacation where I´m still at. But the car felt more alive. There was more going on in the steering wheel. It´s a fun game. But for me the open wheelers in iRacing are more how I would expect a formula car to behave. Same goes for AC. Never played rf2.
      In AMS2 I feel like there is an invisible driving aid active. At least in the open wheelers. For example, if you accelerate out of a slow corner, 1st gear full throttle, the rear starts to slide, but you can stay full on throttle because the car wont spin. The rears find grip and you keep going. In any other game I played, you would spin. All driving aids off. And TC off as well.

      @ ah, that V10 sound in AMS2 ❤️.
      Hope the vacation goes well and you get to pick up where you left off.
      Ironically, I think the invisible aid you’re referring to is the same slip-angle/yaw effect I’m talking about. Just shows how it’s all personal preference.
      After all that, it’s Marmite 😂

    i have a moza r12, i love how the force feedback feels in AMS now, not quite at the ACC level. i know everyone raves about AC1’s FFB but could never dial my wheelbase in perfectly, especially for low speed and breaking where the wheel has a mind of its own.
    now im looking to upgrade yet again to simagic once the boxing day sales are on and spend some quality time practising in AMS2, iRacing and AC Evo. VR in AMS2 and a motion sim is just perfect.

    the Madness physics engine uses a version of (rfactor 2) pmotor 2.0 physics engine that's more accessible. it's safe to say it will always be chasing the old code, LMU is on version 2.5. i think that's why it's all subjective all these developers use ISI's rfactor engine just retuned or detuned based on developer's vision.

    After the update i tried the Hyper Cars in AMS2 to see if my wheel base would work, happy to say it was a better experience. But, while it was fun, it felt more like playing an much improved Forza title when compared to LMU. With that said i hope 396s comming changes to braking doesn't kill some of the LMU challenge i get in mastering that level of driving feel.

    • @MAWvR3ALITY
      @MAWvR3ALITY  8 дней назад +1

      Couldn’t agree with you more. The update has definitely improved AMS2, but like you - it’s that pursuit of realism level of challenge that I love the most.
      Like playing rallying games, then Richard Burns Rally comes along.
      I too hope they don’t nurf LMU too much, but some of the challenge does seem a bit extreme - those LMP2’s can be lethal.

    Wish I could give you the viewtime but thanks for being up front. I dont understand how people are saying its like pcars 2 and that that's not a bad thing. The games issue was the ffb and weird physics with pendulums and a daft wobble of steering every time you come out of a corner. I do like how much it feels like you're holding on for dear life but it can't be right.

      Thanks for commenting, that’s much more important than holding you hostage for the view time.
      Your last sentence is the point that sticks with me. None of us have to drive a GT car in real life to think - ‘that can’t be right’.
      Hell, much lower speeds of course but - 20 minutes of indoor/outdoor Karting gives some real world reference of being on a slick tyre against your road car tyre.
